Reviews for The Price of Madness

Oh, Pook! Why is it that my life gets so hectic that I miss updates? I adore this story and when I do read it I yearn for more. I laughed out loud when he offered to call her a other names. And he knows! On some level, you know he knows, but he just... can't. LOL! It's too funny and oh so very sad. And the last chapter... UGH! That was so very good too. ACK! I just can't believe that I was 2 whole chapters behind and it took me until now to catch up. So... do you have any more for me, Pook? Please. How about if I beg? If I offer chocolate? I have chocolate. It's good. Honest. Come on. I need more. Feed me!!!

Author's Response: I know what you mean! I have so many fics I need to catch up on, and I never seem to have the time! I'm afraid that I didn't have much time to write this week, but I'm hoping to finish off the next chapter today. Thanks, Ginny! :)

You always have me sighing after I read a new chapter. You mingle perfectly the elements of fun, sweetness, weirdness and tragedy in this story. Really, we envy and don't envy Hermione at the same time. Sigh. :)

Author's Response: You've made my day! I'm doing my best to write a nice mix of genres, and you make me feel I'm on the right track. Thanks! :)

'Talk about walking on egg shells. Just when progress seems to be made Hermione inadvertently upsets Severus. Is "trollop" better than "whore?" I guess from the list provided it is. I was thinking about the movie "There's something about Mary." Her brother is disabled and he goes ballistic when someone touches his ears (I think it was his ears?). Great chapter. I especially liked the kissing description.

Author's Response: I don't think I've ever seen that movie. I'll have to check it out. Thanks, Maddie! :)

I never thought I'd call "trollop" cute, but... well, it is. This story is wonderful! Thanks!

Author's Response: Lol! My friends and I used to call each other trollop and wench when I was in high school. Little wonder I went fot that word in the story. :D Thanks! :)

Oh Oh My!! I was watching TV and what came on? Star Trek Wrath of Kahn? What does this have to do with this story you may ask? It reminded me of the next Star Trek movie( Search for Spock) where McCoy was becoming insane and acting like a child which was due to having had Spock's soul transferred to his mind. HMM. And all of this ties into my previous review on Dombledore's fascination with butterflies. The Search for Spock movie had a theme of regeneration which ties in nicely with the idea of butterflies as a symbol of rebirth and regeneration. Perhaps, again, I could just be reading more into the story than you meant. I have often felt that way while dissecting novels in Lit classes. Sometimes, I just paused to wonder if some author is rolling over laughing at the meaning and grand symbolism we attach to their works when all they meant to do was tell a good story. Oh,no. I just looked and realized that there is only one more chapter left to read. Please update soon.

Author's Response: I love that movie! I love most of the Star trek movies. All except the first one. That first one sucked jarvey balls. And I am not rolling over laughing, but Pooka must keep her mouth shut on certain issues, lest she spoil the story! Thanks! :)

Oh my gosh! I can't believe I waited so long to review. Although I love all of your stories, this has to be the best. Your characters are so real, and you manage a great balance of humor with the grimmness of the looming war and the daily life with a mnetally disturbed person. Ok, first you had me curious about Dumbledore and his fixation on butterflies. A bit of Googleing reveals thatNavajo Indians associate butterflies with insanity(esp moths). Also, in Scotland and other parts of Europe moths are thought to be fairies and withches. HMM. I also wonder if you planned on the symbolism of Snape's mind being wrapped in a chrysalis and we are just waiting for it to be re-born as he gets his sanity back.

Author's Response: The butterflies definitely have some symbolism for me in this tale, but that's as far as I'll say for now. I didn't know that about the Navajo or the beliefs in Scotland. That's very interesting! Thanks, Curly! :)
