| Severus' concern for Draco was touching. Even in the midst of his "madness" it seems he still has a recollection of the things most important to him. Fascinating story and I'm definitely hooked! | I've worked in human services for twenty-seven years, including services for people with mental illness. You are really doing a good job of presenting a person who has delusional thinking (not that he isn't a tad paranoid for good reason). One of the most important lessons I had to learn was never to argue with a delusional system, you won't win. Hermione and Ron demonstrated that they've learned that lesson very well and it has gone a long way towards helping them establish rapport with Severus. It is sad to see Severus so terribly vulnerable and helpless when he has always been portrayed as strong and distant. When you reveal the inner workings of his head that brought him to this point, you're going to make us cry, aren't you authorwhore? Author's Response: Thank you so much for letting me know what you think. I tell you, it's hard for me to be honest to mad Severus without making him some odd caricature of an insane person. It really makes me feel better to know that you think I'm doing all right with it. I don't want to portray him as too piteous, but I don't want to make him a clown either. I know you can't argue with a delusional system all too well! I've been in that situation a few times myself. You won't ever know everything that's going on in his head, as it's from Hermione's POV, but you are correct. There will be some reveals along the way and at least one is a bit rough. However, there's a half humurous note in this fic for a reason, and I promise it will not suddenly lose that "safety net" of humor. We shall never wallow in sadness for long, readerwhore! So don't fret too much about it! Thanks again for your wondeful comments! They mean a lot to me! :) | |||

| Poor Severus! BTW did I miss why he calls everyone whores? I'm puzzled by it. Author's Response: *giggle* You and everyone else except my fiance. | Very poignant. I've been meaning to say that as much as I've enjoyed the oddly funny slant to this story, I've also been very impressed at the balance between pathos and humor. Author's Response: Thank you so much! As I was just saying to another reviewer, that balance was very important to me with this fic, and I'm hoping I will be able to keep it up without it slipping too far one way or the other. | As ever, this story continues to be sweet, heartbreakingly sad, and hilarious. If Snape did go mad, he'd be just like this, I'm sure. And I loved the way he went along so docilely with Ron when he explained--and the way Hermione resisted. The fear of showering was cogently explained (and somehow, I think Hermione is going to enjoy her solution more than she expected). I also loved Snape's offer to list the whores who were interested in his "wand." Keep it up (the story, I mean!) Author's Response: *giggle* I don't have a wand to keep up, but I'll tell my fiance to keep his up! ;) I'm glad you are enjoying my mixed genre, I think that it was the right thing to do with this story. Too humorous and it would be a farce, to serious and it would be an angst fest, so I'm trying my best to keep it in the middle. Hermione's solution is bound to make her quite uncomfortable, but in a good way! :D Thanks! :) | |||
