Reviews for The Price of Madness

I can understand Ron "slipping up" over the spider given his INTENSE fear of them--its hard to use rational thought when you are irrational :) Oh, but to deliberately do what he did, ooohhh he needs to suffer for that one.

Author's Response: Ron was a bad boy, to be sure. None of us make smart decisions when we're angry. I'm very afraid of spiders myself, so I feel for Ron! Thanks! :)

Another nicely balanced chapter. It seems likely to me that Hermione is underestimating her value to the Order--but one can see where her thoughts of sacrificing herself come from. And somehow I'm sure that all Severus's reading in Gobbledygook and German are going to turn out to be of great help to her. And I think he must be aware of what she's contemplating--checking on her at night to ensure she doesn't sneak off to destroy the Horcrux. Ron is acting like a twit here, though I have sympathy for the fact that he started it with a panicked reaction to a spider. (I don't like spiders very well either.) But shouting Dumbldore's name was a really stupid thing to do--and of course it only brought on more of the intimacy that had made him so jealous in the first place. Thanks for posting your lovely story.

Author's Response: I'm very much afraid of spiders myself, so I feel for Ron. I like Ron, and I've tried to write him as a mature adult, but spider + a little jealousy would make him lose his temper and act like a complete prat, I think! I'm glad that you thought so too. I agree that Hermione is woefully underestimating her own worth, a trap we all fall into from time to time. Hopefully she'll come to know the error of her ways! ;) Thanks! :)

I'm thinking that perhaps Severus may be indispensable because he can destroy horcruxes, and Hermione may be indispensable because she is the only one with influence over Severus. Still working on who the "whore" is in this chapter making him dream. Great work, as always!

Author's Response: Hermione is certainly belittling her own importance, but I won't say why! ;) Thanks so much! :)

Another remarkable chapter. You've got me so intrigued by the different mysteries in this story that there is no way I can let it be. If it is up on the list of recently updated I'm there immediately.

Author's Response: Fabulous! I wasn't sure how well i would do with this level of mystery, but Doomspark inspired me to try it. I'm thrilled that it's hooked you! :)

I'm back from England! and had a great time despite the fact that it rained practically the whole time. Anyway I've caught up and I'm so loving this story. I have one little critism however, you don't update frequently enough. Lol. I know you have to have a real like, but I have to ask "Why?" LOL. Keep up the good work, can't wait for more. Toodles.

Author's Response: Glad that you're home and I'm glad that you had a great time despite the weather! I'll try my best to get back to writing so that we can have some more frequent updates. Promise! Thanks! :)

It looks like Hermione is becoming indispensible after all--to take care of Severus. It also looks like Severus gives Hermione just as much comfort as she gives him. I think you are spot on with Ron. Although not my favorite character, I know he can be bright. However, Ron can also be very immature, such as in GoF thinking Harry cheated to enter himself in the tournament. I like your portrayal of Harry. He seems quite focused and has definitely matured, but he still looks to Hermione for direction.

Author's Response: Thanks, Maddie! I like Ron. I think he's generally a very bright and kind young man. I also think he has a temper and sometimes lets it cloud his judgement, just as Harry does. I'm trying to let both Harry and Ron be more mature, though they have both had slips now and then. Thanks! :)

Ooh, ooh, is Dumbledore in his head? I know you can't answer that. But I'm having such fun trying to figure out what's going on! Oh, and that was a stunning example of Idiot!Ron, by the way. Well done.

Author's Response: Thanks, Swooning! And big thanks for the typo heads up! Hmm... which is it? Albus comunicating from the grave or Voldy looking for his lost lamb? Shall I tell you? *giggle* Thanks for the idiot!Ron compliment. I see Ron as a basically good fellow who sometimes reacts before he thinks. Thanks! :)

Yet another great chapter! Curse the idiotic Ron for his lack of brains! I felt really sorry for Severus...well, hope you will updating frequently and can't wait to read more!!! But for some reason, I have a nagging feeling that the "old whore" is not Voldemort...or am I wrong?

Author's Response: There's the question isn't it? Albus comunicating from the grave, or Voldy looking for his lost madman? Could go either way, couldn't it? Thanks! :)
