| Oh, the poor poppet! How broken he seems! I adore the petulant little boy, who just needs proper management, but the decimated man rends my heart. Pook, I won't ask you to tell me, because I hate spoilers, but I hope with all my heart that you mean to heal and restore the Wizard Snape. I was proud of how well Ron managed him. Hermione, of course, has the perfect touch with him. Thank you for this update. I *promise* to wait patiently for the next one. Author's Response: Thank you, darlin'! And I'm hoping it won't be too long a wait. I made some good progress on the next chapter today. I won't give away any secrets, and I won't promise that Severus will return completely to his dungeon terror self, but I will remind you that I tend towards happy endings. | Poor Severus. You write this abuse-inspired-fear-mixed-with-madness quite well, Plaidie. I particularly enjoyed the library/research scene, but I found the hiding behind the sofa and what followed too sad to laugh about. I liked the "nasty old lunch" bit, and wasn't Ronald all mature and kind? Excellent chapter, and it made my Mothers Day (which was otherwise hugely disappointing) to see an update! ALL HAIL VAUGHN, beta extraordinare! And PlaidPooka is pretty darned good as well! Author's Response: Jen, you are such a sweetie! And I'm sorry to hear that your mama's day was a dissapointment, but if I helped brighten it in any way, I'm glad. I've been worried about keeping my conveluted Severus honest, but you make me feel that I'm on the right track. And Severus hiding so badly behind the couch was as sad as it was ridiculous. He is amusing, and I want folks to laugh, but I don't want to make him so funny that he isn't human anymore. Thus Hermione's serious reaction to his hiding. *giggle* Vaughn does indeed rock! I haven't had an "alert reader" notice in several chapters, and that's all because she's brilliant! Not that I mind the "alert reader" bits in the ANs. I get a kick out of giving folks credit for spotting oopsies! And thanks to you, I hope to never confuse things like Granger's with Grangers' again! | Oh my word Pooka!!! They're living next doot AND he won't shower without her!!!! You're really narrowing down the odds for a 'confrontation.' There are so many lovely bits in this chapter....his reaction to his own desk (that Hermione made him)...I love when he parrots Hermione about her work habits..."Yes, thank you, whore." -Best line EVER!!! And the shower situation...he really does tug at your heart!!!! Can't wait for more!!!! Author's Response: I am making things a bit difficult for poor Hermione, aren't I? | I can't help but imagine Snape as the kid from Home Alone, running through the house, screaming and waving his hands in the air. ARRHHHHH! | HEHEHEHE...I know I should feel bad for Sevvie, but this is an entirely new twist to a fic, and I never would have imagined him like this, so even though I should feel for him, (I do), but at the same I think it's so adorable. :D So please update, the shower thing should be hilarious. (I swear to god, everytime he says "whore" I snicker...when will I get used to it? Probably never...) Anyway, pretty please with a Sev covered in chocolate and a cherry on top? (HAHAHAHAHAHA! | I love this story so much for its originality, it's humour and it's heartfelt and poignant moments.
There's so many good quotes, I'm not going to put them all in this email, but when Hermione said 'whore' as well in the same matter of fact way that Severus does, I almost wet myself laughing.
Have been thinking about this whole whore business (and that sentence would make me sound like a pimp under normal circuimstances) and I'm beginning to think that 'whore' has something to do with 'horcrux'.
I believe that Severus is mad for real - I just can't believe that a sane Severus would allow himself to be so vulnerable around Hermione and the others, even if he is a brilliant actor. Author's Response: Oh he's mad all right. About the whole "whore" thing, my lips are sealed! :x I couldn't resist having Severus' speech rub off on Hermione a bit. Lol, by the end, they may all be saying whores right and left! :D Thanks so much for your kind comments! It really means a lot to me! :) | |||
