| I think I keep repeating my reviews but I love this story. I love the whole thing. How snape is . I also always liked Draco so fics with him turning good are my favorites. Thank you for updating. | Oh! He cares about Draco, how sweet! He seems to have moments of lucidity. And he's smart enough to worry about how Draco would fare in the nest of whores. Pretty insightful for the crazy guy. | Oh, dear. That was so touching--Snape's concern for Draco's safety. I do hope that doesn't mean you're going to let something horrible happen to the boy, now that he's become all good and noble. Very worrisome. Still, a really nice chapter, with a nice balance of emotion and amusement. (I still snicker every time he says Dark Whore.) I assume the proximity of Snape's and Hermione's bedrooms is going to be significant. You do make Snape sound quite genuinely mad--the glancing around at the fluxweed was particularly effective--but perhaps it will pass? Author's Response: I, PlaidPooka, do hereby solemnly swear not to let anything too dreadful happen to Draco or Severus. *giggle* I like Draco, prat that he is, and if horrid things are going to happen to him, I'll leave that to JKR. | I've just read all nine chapters and am loving this though I think I wish it were more detailed... as well as just more. There was a moment several chapters back when I thought that Severus was faking as a means of protection but now I think it's some kind of curse, either inflicted or self-inflicted. Not that killing Albus wouldn't break his mind but if the secret/mystery is in part what curse he did fling at Albus and if it wasn't AK then maybe half accomplished unbreakable vows do warp the mind.
In a straight forward way the word whore substitutes for muggle of half-blood but when he called Harry a whores son all I kept thinking was that back when he was in a relationship with Lily (and you might not be implying that at all as subtext mind, but it's possible no?) that she cheated on him. Hence whore.
It's interesting because it's not a straight forward compulsion to blurt out what he would have elegantly inveigled in the past. It's logical, frustrated speech through a filter and although that filter can be taken as madness I figure from whatever he has been managing to do that it's a spell working like a lack of medication on someone with a slight neurological disorder.
I look forward to the next chapter. And to Hermione in that nighty ;-) Author's Response: I'm glad that you are enjoying it so far! It will get more detailed as we go along, I don't want to give too much away at once! Plus, it's from Hermione's POV, so until she knows it, we won't. Severus calls everyone but Draco some version of the word whore, from muggles to shopkeepers to death eaters, so it isn't just muggle or half blood. You aren't the first person who's brought up Lily, but that wasn't where I was going. Until JKR tells us that Lily and Snape actually had a relationship, it's just a theory. In the books, Snape always makes a big deal of the fact that Harry is James Potter's son, he never even talks about Lily. So when my Severus says 'whore's son' he means James' son. You really can't read too much into the whole whore thing, he calls almost EVERYBODY that! As for why exactly he is mad, my lips must remain sealed! :x Thanks! :) | |||
