| I've always loved writing. I started rewriting endings of books that I didn't like before I knew fanfiction existed, and as a teenager, I even wrote an entire book about a TV movie that I loved. My longest, still ongoing project is an original (not fanfic) fantasy story set in the middle ages, which hopefully, one day I'll get to finish. All these project were written in German, though, and solely for my own entertainment. Given that I've been almost exclusively reading books in English for years (they're much cheaper than German books), and also read Harry Potter in English, writing a fanfiction story about it in German sounded all wrong, so I gave up on that before I had even finished the first chapter. I have no idea how my writing skills sound to native ears, and I'm pretty sure they don't come up to my own standard when writing in German. But my beta seemed to think they're at least acceptable, so I finally decided to share something I wrote with other hobby writers and bookworms out there.
