| The only thing that saved this rating from being a 1 is that you finally allowed them to come to their senses at the end. No matter how severe the abuse, no one that brilliant is going to hold on to a very, very stupid delusion for THAT LONG.
That, and the writing was fairly good. Don't agree that anyone acted much in character, though.
Thanks for putting me off this site for a good bit if not permanently, though. It will free up my time for more productive things. Author's Response: Yawn! The only person that writes these characters in canon is J.K.R. and I never proclaimed I was trying to keep them in character. It was a certain story that I wanted to tell, and I used these characters. I doubt Jo's writing any fanfic. As far as a "brilliant" woman living in a deluded world, whatever... Some women, no matter how strong end up loving arseholes. Sometimes it works out while other times it doesn't. Hermione got lucky here that it played out well in the end. A comment like that makes me wonder if you've had many adult relationships. If you have, I'm thinking you've been lucky so far. Severe abuse? I'd have to disagree. There are many worse things out there, and luckily, she didn't experience those. I'm certain you need not leave the site permanently. There are likely quite a few fluffy, well-written stories here that you might enjoy. Whatever you decide, cheers. I'll not worry on your rude words a moment longer. | I absolutely adore this story!!! I'm going to read the rest of the chapters, or as many as I can read before my parents make me go to bed. I'm so glad you're finished with this story, so I don't have to wait for you to post new chapters!! That way, no evil cliffies. Author's Response: Thank you. | Okay, I was ready to give up when I starting reading Snape manipulate her parents. These two mental rejects belong together! Argh! I was skipping down to tell you that I gave up, I just can't read anymore because my heart hurts when then it came...the fall. To be honest, I hope the child is dead. I'm a horrible person aren't I? I don't believe in bringing children up into a insecure environment. Being a parent requires responsibility, maturity and patience, traits neither of these characters have. And love, ha! I won't touch that one. So I can't give up, not now. How could you make me read this horribly fantatsic story? You must be a witch! ~Elizabeth Author's Response: Snape is very manipulative, isn't he? hehe... Oh, wow... hoping a child is dead? Dang, that's mean. You sort of get your wish... in a way. | I find it odd that I am transfixed by this story. Honestly, you've got me hating my favorite character! Hermione is acting like a simpleton hussy, mistaking lust for love. There is not even enough evidence in this story to suggest her love is actually real. I have yet to actually see her have the smallest bit of backbone when dealing with Severus either. I can't stand stories where the main female protagonist is so...weak. But I have faith in you Southern, faith that you will let her grow in this story. I don't care if he falls in love with her, which he clearly has - I just want her to say no. So off I go to read more. Until the end, ~Elizabeth Author's Response: Many people hate Snape in the first half of this story, but as always, his actions will be explained. As far as Hermione's ways, many intelligent women fall in love with arseholes and simply try to make the best of things. Sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn't. Hope you continue to read. | |||

| Snape or Harry - certainly depends on which part of my body I would be listening to ;-) I tto have been involved in a relationship like this thinking that my love would be enough and that if I just loved him enough I could set everything right. It was a very painful but also important lesson for me that it was not so. But alas I will hope for a happy ending to this as I think Hermione deserves the man she loves not to mention Harry who also deserves better. Snape - not sure what he derserves though... Ok - on to nex chapter. Thanks for the story - I am eternally grteful to all you wonderful writers that give us less creative SS/HG shippers so many wonderful hours. xxx Brisinggammen
