I have only recently began reading this story. I love the way that you write and have followed most of your other stories, but did not want to get too caught up in this one before I finished one of the many others I was reading. I love the way that Hermione and Severus are slightly different characters in each of your stories, but that they still remain the same underlying character in all of them. This one has got to be one of my favorites. Severus is a product of his upbringing and his childhood. Having no love in his life to speak of he would not be able to recognize it. And the only love he had ever witnessed was that of his mother and she was not strong enough to hold on. It is little wonder that he relates love to weakness. As for Harry, never has he so deserved a good ass kicking. He knew the truth and still would rather hurt not only Severus but Hermione, who he says is his friend. That is low. Finally, habits, at least to me, often start out as something else, but repitition is what makes them a habit. B Author's Response: I'm glad to see you over here having a read. It's sad how some nasty childhood memories can really twist a person's ways and beliefs, isn't it? About the weakness bit, you've hit the nail on the head. I really do like the way you have written Hermione in this story. She definatly has a more mature understanding of her friends and Severus. The way she immediatly told him she believed him and didn't blame him for the fall released him from his defensive posistion and put them back on a even footing. Severus just doesn't know how to accept a good thing and hopefully Hermione will not have regrets about having a child with him. Even with good intention and love, some men are poor fathers and it usually fall to the mother to try and compensate.(like Severus' mother tried). Keeping Snape well, Snapish while having him grow into his new role is something I look forward to reading. TTFN Author's Response: She's grown a lot now that she's gotten past the "blinding" love she feels for him. Hermione will help him through something rough in the next chapter. Good grief, my heart certainly did ache for the both of them. Your right though he does seem so confused. I think it would be nice if he found some letter of his mother's that she had written for him for when he was grown. Helping him to see who he can be. :) It's nice to see him finally trying to break away from his father's way of thinking. But he's likely thinking what's left for him. Poor guy. Anyway loved it Very Very much! Keep up the great work. Dreading Harry's visit, and wondering whether the boys can behave. lol Hurry back. You have done such an excellent job with this fic. I enjoy very much Severus' internal struggles and how Hermione is dealing with him. Your lemons have been terrific. So erotic.
