| Beginning to feel that anything would be better than the situation she now found herself in, Hermione seriously considered banging her head into the table until it stopped. Ah, nope, I stand corrected; she's cope just like I would with an awful case of PMS. I must have missed you use of An Old Cliche Revisited when I first read this, I only noticed Turpin singing the song in the smut chapter (21?). It interested me, so I went looking for the song. I found the lyrics at Cantaria, and then an amazing cover of it with the dragon's response by Brobdingnagian Bards http://www.soundclick.com/pro/?BandID=106366 some free downloads, I highly suggest the Angel song as well (written before he got his spinoff). | Ouch. I had a real case of PMS like that once. I think I threw something breakable at my bedroom door when someone came to check on me, and hid in bed the rest of the day, within reason. Poor Hermione. If I felt like banging my head against the wall to make the mood swings get fuzzy, there's no telling what she's wanting to do. Author's Response: Lol, been there, done that, as they say! I used to have a rough time indeed until I discovered the joys of birth control pills! | I had the urge to re-read all of Overcome w/Feeling last night, so here I am. I have to say, as I read your author notes, you are highly irregular for a fanfic newbie author. Most new authors I've seen have trouble writing and blending into the fic universe their first handful of stories; it's a little awkward until they get comfortable. Now, I haven't read the 1.5 fics you wrote before overcome, but the level of skill on Overcome suprises me. I hope you grace us HG/SS shippers with your presence for a long time to come. Now, onto the re-reading! (I'll review each chappie if I remember as I go. No promises ^_^;; ) p.s. I LOVE TURPIN! I'm not sure how to respond to what you've said about my entry into writing. I think I discovered fanfic about a month or so before I started writing Naked Journey. So I don't know the fanfic world very well, and I have no idea how it is for other new writers. Naked Journey was indeed the first story I've written down since I was in high school and I didn't do much creative writing then. However, I've been addicted to reading since I learned how. I've an overactive imagination, and I like to play around with the plot of things I've read and movies I've watched. Usually I just play with them in my head; when I discovered fanfic, I decided to try to write one down. Thus NJ was born. Now i must confess, the first draft of the first 4 chapters of NJ were horrid. Oh, the plot was there, and the characterizations, but I had no idea what I was doing. I didn't do dialog punctuation well, I wrote everything in the past tense. Luckily for me, the mod who rejected my story (Dryad, who was so kind and helpful that I didn't give up altogether) suggested that what I needed was a good beta. I completely lucked into the perfect beta for me. Goblynn is an angel. A literature major in college, she knew all the stuff I didn’t. Even better, she never tried to change my story, she simply taught me how to write it better! She’s intelligent, patient, and big fun; I wouldn’t be here without her. The first four chapters of NJ had “red ink” all over them. I did my level best to learn from her suggestions. Nowadays I am proud to say I get very little “red ink”. :) I think the thing that has helped me most (other than Goblynn) is that I pretty much played the story over in my head before I wrote it down. When I start my stories, I know where they are heading and where they will end. Sure, they grow and change as they go along, but the basic plot stays the same. You can’t do any foreshadowing if you don’t know where you’re going! I think some new writers get so excited about writing that they just dive right in and don’t see where their story is heading until half way through. That’s my gut feeling anyway. At any rate, I can’t tell you how much your words have meant to me today. I’m still new at all this, and I worry that I’m doing everything all wrong from time to time! | Wonderful! I'd wondered where the title came from, but wasn't expecting this until this chapter. What a fabulous story, and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of it. | Did I review this already? Not a clue, so I'll possibly do it again. I LOVE TURPIN! The author's not chopped liver either ;-). Excellent, just how I like my lemonade, I can't wait to read more. I must also look up that song, it's hilarious. Is it an actual song or one mentioned in another fic, like Passionate Trousers? Author's Response: Lol, I'm so pleased not to be chopped liver! I adore that song, and it's quite real. I found it on a bard's page. I believe I noter the songwriter in the AN. Glad you are getting a kick out of my story! | I started this story a long time ago..before I knew it you've updated and so I had more to read..fantastic. Their argument..it was so emotional..i reely loved that bit. I was also quite shocked when Snape questioned her for not being a virgin..(not only hermione I also di.d a double tk) Oh my God...WOW.update soon!!! Author's Response: I'm so glad you've enjoyed catching up! Lol, while I can easily imagine Severus and Hermione in a relationship, I can also easily imagine them arguing quite a bit.
