*big sigh* can't believe i've finally finished reading. took me three days (i'm a slow reader) and i was taking my precious time with the last chapters because i honestly didn't want it to end. you write very well and i apologize for not leaving comments on any of the chapters. i wanted to, but i huge part of me also wanted to get to the next part of the story quick. i thought your snape was really sweet and you showed how different he really is when he doesn't have to play his spy role. my favorite scene is when hermione breaks down and projects her grief. really dramatic. i like how you also broke away from conventions like the virgin-hermione and irrational-ron and harry, it's nice how you ended the story. they've been so caught up in the war that there has always been a sense of haste in everything they do and feel. the way they have to savor every moment. but now that the war is over, they can just sit back and enjoy their time together. there's no need to think that they have to rush things because one of them might die tomorrow. very beautiful. one question though.. is hermione pregnant? the first paragraph compared the comfort to it. are you trying to imply something? *cheeky grin* anyways, i hope this review made sense. just to be clear: i love your story and would enjoy reading more of your work. keep writing, coz you're good at it. thanks for sharing! truly appreciated...

Author's Response: No appologies needed! It's quite customary when reading a completed work to save commentary to the end. I'm just thrilled that you left me a review! And such a long and kind one as well. Hmm...I hadn't thought of Hermione being pregnant at the end, but I'm happy to leave that choice up to the reader. I admit that I enjoy trying to do things a bit differently if I can. (Not that there is anything truly new under the sun) I have written a virgin-Hermione, but she had no place in this fic. And I admit I get quite tired of reading older Ron's and Harry's who still behave like impossible 13 year old boys. Believe me, ALL 13 year old boys are impossible, but they do tend to grow out of it! I had just read HBP before I wrote that last chapter, and while I always intended them to go visit Jamaica in the epilogue, I admit that it came out far more idylic that I first planned. I wanted to give them both a rest after the war, and after HBP, I dearly wanted to give poor Severus a moment's peace. Thank you for reading my story and thank you for such a kind review! :)

Very well written---loved Severus's foul mouth furry sidekick, who was absolutely hilarious! Great Job!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I miss writing Turpin, the little blighter! :)

At first, I thought that Snape's familiar might have been a salamander. I am getting pretty bored of his familiars being cats and/or snakes, even though they seem to suit him. Variety is key. I've never read any of Rowling's books besides the Potter series, but I recognized the name Turpin, or in this case Dick Turpin the english robber who was partnered with Tom King, a fellow robber. *snicker* I initially thought it might have been a jay, or a fox or ferret because it's not hard to imagine these as snarky. Turpin's replies made me laugh so much~what an appropriate pet for Snape, an animal as smart and dared stand up to him! *bows to your creativity* I only read the reviews after the fic, unfortunately. But am glad that it's a Jarvey, much thanks to the reviews and Wiki. ;) (It's funny how many Ravenclaws guessed that in the reviews. p.s. I got sorted in that House in LJ's hat_sorting. LOL.)

Author's Response: It does seem like everyone gives Severus cats, snakes, or ravens, doesnt it? I really like your idea of a fox, and I admit I played with that idea before I settled on Turpin. A fox seems very appropriate somehow. But in this fic, i particularly wanted a familiar who could talk, and once I read about jarveys I couldn't get the idea out of my head! I think it's wise to read reviews after a fic, I never read them before, it spoils the fun! Thank you for reading and thanks so much for the lovely review! :)

I'll do one of my rare things and give you a ten for the story - very nicely made... although I havent exactly gotten to the end of the story yet. Still, the events knit very well together... excellent work. I still remember the Empath from my ST days (I have most of the "old" books and certainly all the adaptations of Blish from the original series.

Author's Response: I'm so pleased that you enjoyed it so much. Once I got the idea of making Hermione an empath in my head, I couldn't get it out again, and so this little story was born. Thanks! :)

Really, we should all just start a Turpin Fan Club. The best, absolutely best, OC ever, and Andrene gave him major competition. I must say, this is my favourite Snape... I've read far too many fan fictions that, in all fairness, try to keep Snape in rather nasty character. The problem with this is I honestly don't see Hermione falling in love with someone like that unless she has a tendency toward masochism. So your portrayal of him as, well yes, crusty and at times cruel, but essentially brave, intelligent, decent and able to be caring... much more tolerable in the pairing. And you've managed to give us an absolutely love-besotted Hermione who hasn't given up one shred of her independence, intelligence, or maturity. Bravo. Oh, and you're really, really funny. There are so many examples I can't even bring up one, although many others have... pretty much everything Turpin says, but the "now I've killed him," the exchanges between Sirius and Severus, the overheard sex scene... migosh, those are only the most recent. You are an excellent writer with a sound sense of pacing and characterisation... please, please, grace us with more AND consider giving consideration to original work (and letting us know when you do so)!

Author's Response: Wow! What a sweet review! And a nice thing to read when I am in the middle of the worst bout of writter's block ever. I ought to print it out and read it everytime I'm convinced that I suck burro penises. I think that this whole fic ended up basically being a vehicle for Turpin. He was just so much fun to write, he practically wrote himself! I don't think I shall ever write a truly nasty Snape. Sure, my Snapes may be a bit too nice, but, in my opinion, the uber bastard Snapes one often finds in fanfic bear as little resemblance to cannon as do the super nice ones. For heaven's sake, cannon Voldemort comes off rather a nice man compared to some of the Snapes I've read! I'm glad you enjoyed my Hermione as well. I've always fond that a strong woman is still a strong woman, even if she is a bit besottled. I hate reading dish-rag Hermione! I'm so glad you enjoyed this fic, and if I ever manage to get back to writing, I hope you come along for the next adventure! Thanks! :)
