| Oh, I already know I am going to like this one. Salamanders are such interesting critters. As to Snapes familiar, I suppose a cat would be too obvious, ...hmmm, maybe some type of shrew? It likes to bask in the sun and it has whiskers. Whiskers imply a mammal,but there are so many to choose from. Need more clues! Author's Response: Glad you like it so far! | Hey Pook! I'm back again and I like this story as well! I will definitely keep checking back for more. Now, as to my guess of Severus' familiar...I'd say it's a jarvey! | Dunno what the salamander did, but salamander blood is supposed to have curative properties and a somewhat short life span. Find it and kill it! As for Snape's familiar....only Snape's familiar would dare call him "Syphilis". You, Pook, have this way way with animals... Jarvey = Resembling an overgrown ferret, the Jarvey is one of the few beasts that can actually talk. Its speech, however, consists entirely of rude phrases and insults. Jarveys chase gnomes. [Now why would Snape WANT a critter that only speaks rude insults?? Is the Jarvey named "Turpin" after Dick Turpin, the English highwayman? I miss Bob...] Author's Response: Lol! I should have known you would have it all figured out, June! *giggle* Glad you liked the "Syphilis", I was rather fond of that one. | WOOHOO!! New Pook story! Excellent opening chapter Pook, nicely sets the scene for the rest of it - the intrigue, the suspense, the snarky Potions Master with an even snarkier pet! What the hell is a Jarvey? *looks it up* An overgrown ferret? XD Is there any particular reason it has a XXX rating on the HPL? Author's Response: On the Lexicon? It's very early in the morning, and I'm a bit slow. *yawn* Jarvey has a XXX rating?
