Reviews for The Man Who Sold the World

Please update again soon. I can't wait to find out what exactly a Wraith is in this world (although I am assuming it is someone who has escaped magical control but still caught up in the controlled areas), and who else is going to turn up. The one question that is running through my mind (and it is rhetorical) is: Is Voldemort spreading himself too thin that he has to give London over to Malfoy? I figured that he would base himself there.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! You're right about the Wraiths, and a bit more about them will come up later. As for Voldemort, he's always worked from the shadows, right? Malfoy is the one who enjoys being in the public eye; I figure Voldemort would have a base secreted away for himself and could run the non-warfare part of his new empire through his trusted regents like Malfoy and Dolohov. He's out there somewhere, controlling his armies instead of concerning himself with the ghettos. Lurve, Meggory

Engrossing. And I'm curious to know why Snape thinks he was responsible for Hermione's "death". Was also surprised that Snape didn't realize that's who he saved. That was exciting.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! Don't worry, we'll find out exactly what happened to Snape in later chapters...he's not ready to tell anyone yet. Lurve, Meggory

I do so love this fic. It is so elaborately spun, so beautifully written. I eagerly await the next installment.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! The next installment is much longer, and should be up in the next few days. Lurve, Meggory

That's so sad, poor Severus asking for more bread ..... I hope she can sneak him a decent meal. Can't she eat the Death Eaters' leftovers or rejects? She still hasn't told Severus she has his old potions book; I'm curious how he lost all his stuff. Probably blew his cover in Diagon Alley? Thanks for updating - more, please!

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! Don't worry, Severus will be adequately fed. The potions book will come up later. Update to come as soon as I finish chapter four! Lurve, Meggory

I'm awfully glad to find Snape is not a real wraith! A fascinating story and I am awaiting the next update eagerly.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! Yeah, I know, the word 'Wraith" has different connotations for a HP fic, but it's different enough from ghost to be able to mean something else. Lurve, Meggory

Another fascinating chapter. You've gotten me rather interested in imagining a showdown between Muggle technology and magic. (Before I started this fic, I was more of a "of course the Order would win!" kind of girl.) How would magic stand up to nuclear weapons, I wonder? Or, were the Death Eaters smart enough to capture the nuclear forces of the major powers before the Muggles could use them? Of course, I'm primarily interested in Hermione and Severus's adventures in this world, but the potential backstory and history behind this war is very intriguing. I liked the dynamic between the two main characters, and I thought your references to Severus (raven, cornered dog) were quite successful. Best, Sophie

Author's Response: AHA! You've hit the nail on the head! The whole concept of evolutionary warfare of the Muggle world and the terrorist style, old fashioned ways of the Wizarding world are about to be explained and delved into. I'm glad you liked the animal imagery (ugh, I can't think of that phrase without thinking of my Shakespeare prof blabbing on about Othello...). Lurve, Meggory

Thanks for the update! I love your story. I'm also curious about what the other governements might do/say.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! It's nice to know other people spell government "governement" (a vestige from my years in French Immersion...) :) There will be much more political stuff coming up, and I will try to make it interesting and sensical. Lurve, Meggory
