I do hope Vovo makes it out okay, and that they take any extra wands; I like Vovo. That was a very powerful lesson in Legilimency, but I think he should still test her Occlumency. I'm glad she gave Severus his old potions book, which I hope came in one of those four trunks. The Portkey map isn't still at the house, right? Is this now a flying car? Vasiliy had no brooms? I love this fic, even if you like these dratted cliffhangers!! Author's Response: Heh, I know how much you love my cliffies... ;D I liked the flying car because it has so much more storage space, and the comforts of upholstery. Besides, Hermione was never enthusiastic about riding brooms, right? I figure she's probably very out of practice or not good enough to make a long trip on brooms. As for wands, Vasiliy doesn't have any extras; he has no wand cores to make them. Don't worry, though. Your strengths are definitely dialogue and characterization (and the plotting ain't half bad, either). I especially admire the way that you have reflected the differences in temperament between Vasiliy and Severus -- the second to last line of the chapter, for instance, illustrates Vasiliy's calm grasp of the situation and Severus' tendency to turn to less laid-back ways of handling stress. Beautifully written Author's Response: Wow, thanks for the compliments! I imagine Vasiliy as this really laid-back, nice guy (but, be sure that there's more to him than that--after all, how did he get to know Severus in the first place?). I'm still greatly enjoying this story; it's truly a gift of a story, wonderful in adventure, suspense, and intrugue, and so very well written. I'm interrested in seeing what sorts of demons Severus has been carrying around after that scene with Hermione...some big stuff going on there and I'm looking forward to finding out more.
