WTF?!??!?!?!?!? THAT'S THE END?!?!?!?!?

I very much enjoyed (!) the world you created and felt the ending was very much in line with the pace and tone of the story. I regret, however, that we never do discover what/who Ginny is hiding that interrupts the secret meetings in the Chamber. Is it a litter of Fang's puppies? Voldie's love child? It would have been interesting to know what you had in mind....

Author's Response: There was a whole other arc in the story that I dropped for brevity's sake, and quite frankly I can't remember who it was supposed to be! So, for interest's sake, let's say it was Florean Fortescue, who was planning to save the world with exotic ice creams.

I usually only like to give really positive reviews, but I'm a bit teed off right now after reading through this whole thing and having such a, in my opinion, bad ending to what was until the last chapter, a pretty decent if a bit depressing fic. Sorry, I just felt that this was time wasted and it put me off reading anything else of yours. Oddly enough, I do enjoy the darker fics, and this was set up to be much better than it ended. The last chapter just feels to me like you are done with and tired of the fic and you don't really feel like shaping it into what it could potentially be. Abrupt is one thing, and open ended is another....this last chapter just lacks so much and it feels like my time and my interest was a joke to you. Well, thanks, I guess. For everything up until that last bit, anyway. Now I'm mad at myself for giving my first negative review of a fic. I'm sorry if it sounds like a flame, but I for one, just feel cheated.

Author's Response: I appreciate your honesty. You're right, I was tired of this story. I've been trying to finish it for four years. I don't think the last two chapters are my best work, but quite frankly, that was the way the fic was always supposed to end. I am considering going back and re-writing the last two chapters to flesh them out a bit more, but the ending will be the same. I won't change what ultimately happens in the end, because that was my vision. Thank you for the courage to say what you really think.

I did read it all in one go. The last familiar tinge to the story was the chapter with Hannah Abott. I remember enjoying the beginning immensely the first time around and feeling a twinge of dissapointment it wasn't finished, the it was lost in the shuffle of works in progress until I found it today. I loved it, truly. Incredibly well thought out and beautifully executed. That kiss full of promise hope and forgiveness was heart wrenching. Thank you for your tale.

I just noticed this is finished, I began reading it ages ago, when there were less than 20 chapters, I'm so excited to work my way through it again.

Thanks for a great work of fanfiction. I almost didn't read this, predicting it would be rather bleak and have an unbelievable or unsatisfactory ending. I actually appreciate the ending that other reviewers felt to be abrupt. It was very visual; I could see Hermione disappearing. You're not leaving me wanting for more closure; this work doesn't need an epilogue (who wins, who has babies, whatever) and doing so would have ruined your perfectly dramatic ending.

I loved the story, and read it all in one go (only pausing briefly to get a couple of hours of sleep once). I the writing and character development were exceptional. I occasionally enjoy stories where Voldemort has won and we get to glimpse the aftermath of what the world would have been in that event. I also liked the way each chapter ended in a cliff hanger...kept me moving relentlessly to the next chapter. I do have to agree with those who didn't like the abruptness of the ending. A unhappy ending is ok, even though I prefer happy ones...but this one did sort of seem to come out of nowhere and didn't really fit with the way the rest of the story developed. It sort of seemed like you just got tired of writing the story, or didn't know how to end it and just sort of made it stop?
