oooh, this story has a lot more spine than i thought it did when i first read the summary. spine and grit. very well written and very interesting. i'm glad i decided to read it. you're doing a terrific job, and i look forward to future chapters. ^_^

Author's Response: Yeah, my blurb isn't very good. I'm terrible at writing summaries. But I am very glad you decided to read it and that you like it.

Hm, don't think Snape is generally the shouting type - more the silky and smooth type (heh, like an advertisement for ladies' razors). Though perhaps living alone as a Wraith for so many years changed him. Is he manic depressive now? Delusional? But otherwise wonderful.

Author's Response: I never thought he would be the shouting type, but just look at what happened when he caught Harry looking in his Pensieve? He went mental! While Hermione's unjustified anger isn't quite on the same level as Harry's trespass, Severus' years living alone as well as what has happened in his recent past have changed him. He really is unstable, and I hope to get that across.

As with every other chapter, this was absolutely beautiful. Your masterful writing is an amazing experience to read. As to this particular chapter... Severus seems quite unhinged at the end. Almost as though his personality is split in two - the cold, calculating Wraith, and the scared, lonely man who just wants to feel safe and loved. I mean, in such a time as they live, everyone must be hardened to remain alive, but Severus has lived that life for decades longer than anyone else, he had to snap sooner or later, and really feel.

Simply masterful.

Author's Response: Yeah, he *is* rather unhinged. That was what I was going for. He has some serious issues to work out, and he's not entirely stable.

There's something very heart-wrenching about a remorseful Severus. I really liked the scene at the end.

Author's Response: Thanks, I enjoyed writing it.

severus came across as somewhat mental in that last scene, if i may give my own opinion. just from his actions an interactions with hermione in the last part. it's very strange that not only would he change his stance in their argument from a haughty "i know you know that i am right" to an overly sorry man, is this a part of his post-war attitude and questionable sanity. unstable from a guilty conscience?

Author's Response: You're good. Very good.

This chapter is wonderful. Though I do have a question. Are they still in GB ? And finally, your idea of the potions book may fit the HBP hehehe. Well, not but that doesn't matter. Your story is so good that I am so glad you decided to write more (even if it is not HBP canon). Why did Severus apologize to her ? It very strange for him. It is a cliffie. Please update as soon as possible.

Author's Response: Yes, they are in Scotland. Severus tells Hermione that's where Gregorovich is after they get into the car. And yes, it is strange for Severus to apologize. Is he crazy? We'll find out...

I would love to guess what happens next, however I think that I should leave that up to you, preferably in a new, quickly updated chapter? I would like to know what prompted Severus to have a change of heart on their argument. Second guessing himself is not something that I see Severus doing, although I guess people would change after a stressful situation. Was he argumentative because his relief was thrown back in his face? Would he have reacted the way he did in Hermione's bedroom before she made him angry? I can't wait for your next chapter!

Author's Response: I wouldn't see him doing it either, but I'm really trying to get across that Severus isn't the person we think we know. He's had really hard times and horrible things have happened to him, and he has changed--not necessarily for the better. He is emotionally unstable.
