Reviews for The Man Who Sold the World

A very exciting chapter, nice descriptions of the new regime etc. which is feeling and looking appropriately like a Nazi or Soviet occupying force. Very evocative description of the library, too.

Author's Response: Thank you. I like writing the library; since JKR leaves alot to the imagination, I can make it as strange and huge and dark as possible.

I think my head nearly exploded when I saw that you had updated. I've been waiting for ages! I love your work and hope you will keep working on this story!

Author's Response: I promise, promise, promise I will finish this story. There are less than ten chapters left, anyway.

Awesome chapter. I fear that Percy will back out when push comes to shove, though. He gives me the shivers, but you've captured him very well.

Author's Response: Yeah, I think Hermione's putting far too much trust in Percy for her own good. But, people can be surprising.

Ooh, Oooh, I wanna vote! Where do I vote? I am totally voting for you. Another great chapter, I cannot wait til the next!

Author's Response: Voting will take place at the Sorting Hat awards page, which will come up first if you put Sorting Hat Fanfiction Awards in Google. Thanks for your vote!

Thanks for the new chapter!! I hope your family is doing okay. Just two more months until you officially graduate - yay! So glad Vovo found the Cloak to give to Hermione; too bad he didn't stash more food in it. And very relieved that Percy didn't hex Hermione! She needs to hurry back to the library; Snape and Irma will notice she's missing and panic, causing more problems. Poor Ginny, to have to see Percy there in that uniform. I still wouldn't trust Percy with any secrets, like where Hermione is going; he could be discovered and interrogated too. Such a great story!!

Author's Response: I wouldn't feel too sorry for Ginny if I were you. My family is doing okay; my sister just finished her fashion studies diploma and me and my boy are going to Europe at the end of September. I am also trying to apply to get into a Master's program in creative writing at a different university, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

You just had to leave it at something of a cliffy didn't you. Smile! Another brilliant chapter, and I can't wait for more. This story should have been in my favourites list long ago, but it's going in there right now.

Author's Response: Me? Not have a cliffhanger? For shame!

First, I know you posted this a while ago, but I am so very sorry about your father. I know that doesn't mean much from a stranger over a computer screen, but it's heartfelt. Congratulations on getting your degree in English! I'm working on one of those myself...hopefully next year I'll graduate... For the story-- this chapter may be boring, but it's setting up some awesome things. I think my questions about characterization that I raised way earlier have been settled-- they're as in character as two broken people can be. And I still love your rich, detailed writing-- Hermione finding a few badly battered packets of Irish Breakfast and tossing them carelessly in the pot is so very nice.

Author's Response: I really really appreciate every single gesture of sympathy, electronic or otherwise, so I thank you just as much as I have family and friends. Keep on with the English degree; my father's death has taught me that life is fragile and life can be short, so do what you love because there may not be enough time to do it tomorrow. But don't let your uni jerk you around; you're paying them.

"Captain of the Spaceship Learn-venture!" OMG, I am in love with that. I like that we're getting more dialogue...now I can really see the young Hermione in this older, cynical, but still courageous woman. I hope Georgina is going to be all right... Is it weird that I love reading about things like people making fake ID cards? I always have. I don't know what that's about...I should be a spy.

Author's Response: Heh. My bf's friends used to make fake military IDs in high school (really). You should go be a spy. And if you really love Spaceship Learn-venture, go check out the Primatology cartoons by entering "primatology" into the search engine at http://www.gateway.ualberta.ca/
