I usually don't sit down to my computer until ten o'clock, and I have to be in bed by eleven to get up for work the next day. What a boring life I lead. Did Severus tell the DE's that he could brew them Veritaserum? That, perhaps, it would work far more efficiently than blunt force? This seems somewhat plausible, but why would the DE's accept the help of this strange man that was travelling with Hermione? And could he have brewed Veritaserum that quickly? Or perhaps he had some on his person... or perhaps they were using an outddated store that Severus had made back before his Wraith days. *shakes head* Ok, I'll quit the poorly structured theorizing now. I will simply twitch violently over the cliffhanger (I sure do hope that's not Lucius at the door) and look forward to the next chapter... Author's Response: No, Severus did not brew Veritaserum for the Death Eaters. That would be horrible of him, wouldn't it? Besides, then they would know who he is, and after all, he's a traitor to Voldemort. He'd be dead very quickly. The DE are simply incompetent potions brewers, and Severus would be aware of the difficulties inherent in brewing Veritaserum. It makes the next chapter easy to start. ;D I figure that while the Death Eaters seem very well organized, they have yet to master the intricacies of brewing Veritaserum.
