What a lovely ending, and what a lovely, complicated new life for Severus with Hermione. Thanks for sharing this with us, Lariope, it's one of the best-written Severus-Hermione fics I've ever read. I say that very sincerely!

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Rosmerta!! I"m really touched. xoxox

very nice. at first, i didn't like how you ended it but after thinking about, i do. while the conclusion is a bit open, severus' life is open to choices. i would be interested to see if anything happens for our love couple in the future from this story, but i would be satisfied with this as well.

Author's Response: Thank you! I know why you felt that way about the ending, and I'm glad that you ended up liking it. I agree--Severus is open to choices now. :)

Amazing story. I have not read one this good in a long long time. Seriously. A lot of stories lately have had just such a disconnect from the original characters/story that I can't even read them. It seems as though they are probably just ripping off cheap period romance novels and only changing the setting/names and a few physical descriptions. Or suddenly inserting a jarring "love" scene that completely breaks character and makes no sense within the context of the story. I don't care if it puts together two characters I like, I'm not going to read that story in farther. I love how you approach the characters with more than the Byronian caricatures for Snape and similar silliness with Hermione and the others. I mean, it's fictional characters but there's certain things that are a bit out of character for someone that's supposed to be pushing 40, grew up in the 60s and is living in the mid-90s. I loved the idea of bonding by sharing the bathroom and the insecurities the two characters had - as well as the believable lack of experience in relationships. I loved the way you changed perspective and the way you ended the story. I loved the way you let the characters come together slowly so that when things happened between them it was satisfying and felt right. Please write more in the same vein as this story! I'm sorry about the negative tone my review had in the beginning but I have really had a hard time finding stories to read!

Author's Response: Thank you, Zuze! I'm thrilled that you liked it, and that the pace and the characterization worked for you. This is a lovely review, and I cherish it. xoxox

You really have the most brilliantly understated endings. They're so...realistic. When reading your stories, one always gets a sense that there's a lot more that continues afterwards, and I love that. Very not cut-and-dry, "story's over now and we get a happily-ever-after." This ended perfectly. I enjoyed Snape's shopping trip, and the way he cancelled it when he thought of going back to Hogwarts - his distance from what he wanted was so indicative of his own reluctance - and his feeling of being trapped into returning. Pomona has been a wonderful character throughout - a very different interpretation on a little-used character in this genre. I had hoped to find out that there was something between Draco and Harry, but we can't have it all :). Another well-done piece! I certainly hope you continue to write for us...you're an excellent author in this fandom!

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Leraiv Snape! That means a lot to me. I'm really happy that you see the story as one that goes on after the ending--that's exactly why I like the understated ones, and I'm very glad to know that it worked for you. Regarding Harry and Draco: Oh, yes. But that's another story. :) Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. xoxox

It's over, I'm so sad. Maybe he can brew antidepressants for house elves who have left their homes. Is there enough for him to do at the house, will they get new people? Lovely to see Severus grow throughout.

Author's Response: Thank you, Tessa! I'm glad you felt he was growing. Yes, I think the house will definitely fill up again, but you're probably right that he would work with the house elves too.
