This is a scene that shows us a very human side of Snape and makes him compare himself to Draco in a way that questions his own temerity. Very well written.
Author's Response: Thank you very much. I'm so glad that you saw it that way; it makes me very happy. |

Poor Snape! He makes me think of a teenager trying to turn their 1st apartment into "home".

Author's Response: He reminds me of that too! Thank you for reading! |

I love the idea of getting rid of the house system, it makes sense at least, although i can't imagine many witches and wizards liking the idea. And poor Severus, unable to make his room homely, i'm sure Hermione will give him some decorating tips.
Author's Response: Yeah, I think you're right--most witches and wizards would not like the idea at all. Thinking about Hermione giving Snape decorating tips makes me laugh!! It's a great image. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing, Hot Goose! |

This is really getting interesting - I love Hermione suggesting the idea of doing away with the House system, especially since I think she's completely right! It was one of the disappointments of the way the canon series finished up, that we never got a really nuanced view of the Houses, especially Slytherin. All the baddies (almost) were in Slytherin, which I thought was terribly unfair. Anyway, go Hermione! And I love Draco's debut here, and his shopping trip with "Uncle Severus" (good God indeed!). And the idea of Severus trying to create a home around himself is rather endearing - I want to see him succeed. So glad you're quick to update!
Author's Response: Thank you, Rosemerta. I agree with you about the house system, incidentally. It's one of the reasons I emphatically disagree with the last line of the series--all will never be well until the house system is fundamentally changed. I'm glad you enjoyed Draco and the shopping trip! Thank you very much for reading. More quite soon! |

Poor Severus has no idea how to make a room seem like home. Maybe he should ask Hermione for decorating tips.
Author's Response: LOL. Snape and Hermione collaborating on a decorating project!! |

Snape has now earned my respect -- good thinking!
Author's Response: I'm so glad!! |

Ah, I had been wondering what happened to Spinner's End. What a rich and delectable chapter! I like how Malfoy has turned out. Poor Snape, having to convince himself he deserves some nice things of his own . . .
Author's Response: Thank you, Aurora Borealis! I'm really happy that you liked the chapter, and glad you liked Malfoy. That was my first time writing Draco in an SSHG setting, so I was nervous. |

Oh, my, gosh, I am so excited that you are writing another story... . That being said, I have to tell you how funny the part was about Severus listening to Hermione speak the same phrase every morning. Obiviously she is talking to her cat, but he has no clue! That was really brilliant! I am anxiously awaiting on pins and needles for your next update :-)
Author's Response: Thank you, lovestruck! And it IS funny, isn't it? He's not the type to have a pet, so he doesn't recognize it. :) More to come quite soon... Thank you for reading! |
