Reviews for Killing Time

What a wonderful story!! I enjoyed it immensely. It is not a happily ever after, but it is a more realistic look at life and decisions!!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! Realism is always what I'm after. :)

That was an interesting place to bring down the curtain - at first it felt a little incomplete, but upon reflection I liked it. It allows us, the readers, to be co-creators in a sense, because we can choose the next step for Hermione and Severus. And realistic, because life doesn't have a set of pat, happy-ever-after stopping points. I loved the owl directed to Snape in the 5th aisle of the store - such a nice nod to Harry's first letter. I also liked that Snape probably won't go back to teaching - I've never been able to believe that Snape would willingly choose to go back to Hogwarts as teacher or Headmaster. What's the point of a new start in life if you are trapped in the same role? Truly lovely story - I enjoyed every word of it.

Author's Response: I'm glad it ended up making sense to you. :) I'm afraid I've always written these sorts of understated endings--I think it's because the traditional means of ending a romance is usually, like you said, the happily ever after moment of a wedding or a child, which I've never wanted to write. And yes, you're absolutely right--I feel like an open ending leaves the reader the ability to go where they want to with it in their own head (part of the reason I so resented the HP epilogue). And if I've done my job well, you at least know they are together, even if you don't know the other details. I'm really glad you liked the story. Thank you so much!

I always love your stories, because you write about Snape with so much sympathy, without making things mushy and maudlin, and so much real insight. You give him thoughts and feelings that aren't just a character's, but a real person's. It seems to me like you always succeed at what you set out to write; this really did feel like a coming of age story, and to me, now it seems like the only way Snape could really recover from the experience of having killed Dumbledore and then having nowhere to go after that last year. Just as it feels like "Second Life" is the only plausible way that seventh year might have gone. I am your biggest, biggest admirer.

Author's Response: This is one of the nicest compliments I've ever received, and I will file it away in my heart for all the times that I'm gripped with terrible insecurity. Thank you. xxoxooxox

This is fantastic!! The gradual realization sneaking up on him - done so subtly and so beautifully! And this has got to be the best Virgin!Snape I've ever read. WELL DONE!! I'd love to see more...(hint: sequel)?

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm delighted that you liked Virgin!Snape!! It was my first shot at something like that, and I was a bit nervous.

Thank you for another wonderful story. I love your writing, although I wish this one had been as long as Second Life (which is fantastic!!), I will take what I can get. As others have said, you do not end things with a "happily ever after." We see the beginning of their new life together and are left with a feeling of hopefulness for their future. Please write another story soon.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm really glad that you liked it. I don't know if I'll ever have the wherewithal to tackle a monster like Second Life again, but I'm glad to know I'd have a reader if I did! Thank you again for reading and reviewing!!

Nice story. You didn't rush it toward a conclusion. The narration was subtle and satisfying.

Author's Response: Thank you. That means the world to me.

Well, as I've said in previous reviews, I absolutely loved this story (as well as your others). Severus and Hermione, and all the others were kept so in character. A massive well done!

Author's Response: Still loving your name, Hot goose! And thank you very much. I'm thrilled that you liked the story!!
