I can't wait for more, hope you have another chapter ready in the wings, and I hope it gets through the mods quickly

Author's Response: Well, as a matter of fact I DO have a chapter waiting in the wings. Basically, I'm going to try to update once a week (whether the last chapter has gone through or not). Then, it's up to the mods from there... and they are amazing and very, very busy. But you can rest assured that chapters should be flowing fairly quickly.

Thanks for reviewing!

Ooooo. Very nice beginning. I like how you made the story when Snape was just joining the staff, not as a student. Now that Snape is gone, will Hermione be explaining to Dumbledore why she is there?

I think this will be the type of story I could get addicted too. I can't wait to see what you do next. Sorry this review is so short (I'm tired), but I do want to say please update again soon!

Author's Response: I'm really excited about this time frame, too. We'll see about the explanations. I think they won't be forthcoming just yet. I've always thought that for all his Gryffindor-ness, Dumbledore does a lot more observing than he lets on. I think he wants to get a grasp on his ideas about Hermione before letting her explain. He is a master manipulator, after all. Thank you so much for reviewing!

It is late and I am tired, so this review is not particularly insightful. Nevertheless, I've really enjoyed the first two chapters and look forward to the rest. Love the bit with Dobby, by the way.

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it, especially the part with Dobby. Thanks!

Author's Response: Ha! Thanks! I can provide a bit of a fix in saying that the next chapter is already in queue.

Once again, thanks for an amazing chapter! I wonder if Dumbledore is hiring Trelawney due to a recent prophecy...that would certainly place this story in a perfect place with respect to the canon timeline. I wonder how long it'll take the taciturn, silent Potions Professor to actually approach Hermione and talk to her about where she's from. It seems that he'll just want to observe her for a while.

I wonder what Hermione will find in Hogsmeade.

I think it's neat how you're avoiding all sorts of cliches!

Author's Response: Wow. Thank you so much! And I think you'll find that answer to that first bit of wondering in chapter three. And the second bit also starts to come around. And I think he would definitely choose to observe her; however, he is young and impatient, so we'll have to see. :) And I'm really excited that you think this story is avoiding cliches.

Thank you!

Oh, we step in the murky waters of time travel :-D

I'm always somewhat intrigued by Time Turner fics, though few manage to be believable and/or enjoyable. I don't think this fic will have a problem in either respect. Already, the non-Marauder era is a new premise, so very promising both because of the originality of it, and because of the possibilities it offers in terms of advancing the plot. The Back to the Future concept is also refreshing, and less convoluted, I think, in terms of navigating a complex plot... This looks like it's going to be a good, lengthy, highly gripping and entertaining story -- so please don't keep us on tenterhooks too long ;-)

Author's Response: I know exactly what you mean about the murky waters. I get really excited when I see TT fics, but most fall into the same traps (which usually occur in the Marauder era). There are some that are still spectacular, but mostly I think you're right.

I'm glad you like the era and the Back to the Future concept. When I started researching this fic, I realized just how much *could* have happened during that time frame. We'll be seeing Horcruxes and vaguely familiar faces (taking on a much larger role). And I'm really excited about exploring Severus's decision to switch sides. The Back to the Future framework is going to come into play in many ways... starting, I think, with talk about the flux capacitor in chapter three. There will be other similarities, too...

Anyway, thank you so much for reading and reviewing! The next chapter is in queue.

This is a great beginning! I'm looking forward to rest of the story!

Thanks,

Author's Response: Thanks! I was worried her thoughts going back and forth between times might be confusing. But I'm glad to hear you liked how it started.
