Reviews for Snape, A History

I'm sure Ron's players imitate his awful French, but they do it with affection and refer to him as Leroux.

Author's Response: Mais oui!

Pausing in reading to let you know how wonderful this tale is to slip into and to thank you for sharing it with us :) Cheers...

Author's Response: My pleasure. Thanks so much!

Why Severus called their company Grape Publications puzzled me for a second, until I realized that it's GRanger-snAPE. :-D

Author's Response: I thought it was pretty clever, and I wondered why no one had thought to use it to describe that ship. At least, I've never seen it used before! Thanks for reading and reviewing.

A blonde Quiddich groupie is really a much more suitable mate for Ron than Hermione could ever be.

Author's Response: Absolutely!

I'm glad you didn't go the obvious route and have Hermione catch Ron in bed with that Georgette woman, thus making him the villain of the piece. Its as you said in an earlier chapter: Ron has found his way, and it doesn't include Hermione. Apparently, he needed to leave the country, so he could stop being Harry Potter's Friend or A Weasley Son/Brother and just be Ron.

Author's Response: Absolutely. I like Ron, I really do - but he'll always be in Harry's shadow, in his older brothers' shadows, and never up to Hermione's intellect. Fortunately, he had a good alternative path. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

I read this in one sitting and I wanted to tell you that I totally adore your Snape. The way you portrayed his emotional turmoil was so touching, I could feel my gut wrench. Just wonderful.

Author's Response: Thank you! There's never any shortage of angst where Severus is concerned, and it can be tempting to go way overboard. I"ve read some stories where the poor man is so burdened down I'm amazed he can still function.

I read Into the North years ago and loved it; how could I have missed this one?? Just read it straight through, and I'm now off to read the sequels. I loved all of your main characters; they just seem spot on, and you fleshed them out so well! Excellent, all around.

Author's Response: Glad you enjoyed this. It can be a bit of a challenge to write a romance between those two without the drama of the war, spying, pain, suffering, etc. People tend to fall in love all the time without all those things!

I rarely, if ever, review stories (laziness and nothing more). But I feel I must really compliment you on this piece. The reviewers before have already said my piece, so I will not reiterate what you've already heard. I just want to thank you for writing such a thoughtful story. And for the record, I really enjoyed the fact that the relationship between Snape and Hermione wasn't developed along the lines of lust and there was really a mature relationship going on inside there. Keep the good work up!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! Writing Severus and Hermione is a pleasure, but always a challenge; it seems like many authors either use the lust angle or take so long to reach the mutual attraction stage that I'm ready to give up. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
