| I love your story! I find your depiction of Hermione and Ron very believable, good description of what tent to happen to a couple that realizes there is more than physical attraction for a relationship to work. And Snape.....the mystery of the man.....
Please continue writing i can't wait to read what will happen next!

| I have to say I really love your story. It is so fresh to read about an older Hermione. I absolutely agree with what you said in your profile. People of Snape's age (or a little younger) do not have any interests for teenagers! It was a lovely idea to place your story in France (for a small part). I had to laugh at the Les Salauds de Saint-Lô, I wonder how long you thought before you found this gem. I'm not sure I would be able to find something like this. I think Ron is a prat, but it's better for Hermione (and Snape of course). I love the fact that here, Snape and Hermione have barely talked for 1 hour :) What a nice change. As for the person who said your French wasn't that good, I'm sure she only wanted to help. However, I think that Duj's critic was a bit too harsh as I am French myself. Maybe this person is from Québec where they are really picky about the language since they speak the purest French. Anyway, I am looking forward for more. | This is in response to such reviewers that feel it is their moral duty to trounce the wonderful author of this very true-to-painful-adult-life-fic over slight misspellings and misappropriations of phrases: Please get over yourself! As the author stated, it would be refreshing if the host people of nations and languages abroad (from where we are) appreciated honest efforts to communicate in and honor their languages and customs. In reality, though, many do get upon their borrowed high horses and wax inherently and spiritually wounded if the visitor is not a perfect mimic. Oh, honestly! When this lovely story was written, it was NOT w/ the intention of dissing or disenfranchising anyone's culture. It was to convey their muse. An true effort was made with the language and obviously a lot of time was taken with the attempt at translation. I wonder if the same reviewers who nitpick over grammar and semantics would be the same people to tell a student, or anyone, who was determined to master a difficult subject "Not to bother until they can get it right?" Authors are writing to share a bit of themselves and entertain the rest of us. The Sycophant Hex community does a great job. I thought the point was we are all here in mutual fascination and satisfaction? If a fic is making someone uneasy (and believe me, there have been fics that i have had to withdraw from since story line was disagreeable and disturbing to me) plz be discerning enough to allow the clawing reviews to encompass subject matter, or even call the writer on what may be perceived as offending material to a people or subgroup. Plz, limit wrathful lambasting over grammatical errors. If anyone was 'sorry' to be bitchy, it would come across as a regretful sentiment. It didn't. Plz, to the author, your efforts are greatly appreciated and this story has me half crying for Ron and 'Mione, and half swooning w/ jealousy that Severus is her next victim, er um, i mean conquest . Boy, that word i am looking for is life partner. That's it. Her next life partner. Hope to hear again from you soon and LOL. Author's Response: Poor Ron and Hermione... | Being French myself, I nearly felt embarrassed when I read that review about your use of the French language...I know I told you on another site about the use of the word "rencard" but that word is far too colloquial for the context you use it for. Of course, it isn't obvious when it's not your language. For the rest, I say you did an admirable job of it. I'd rather commend your efforts to use proper French words, and that person who criticised you harshly had better pay attention to their own use of English language. | Actually, the French tend to be very snippy with foreigners who try to speak their language, from all I've heard. They resent foreign words coming into their language too, and even have a special task force (I think it's part of the Academie Francaise) to come up with French equivalents of new words - though it takes them so long that often words have snuck in to common use before they've decided on appropriate substitutes. So don't worry about that grumpy review.
This is exactly how I see Ron and Hermione ending up, if they ever get that far. They're completely ill-suited to each other. What did they ever have in common but Harry, hormones, history and House pride. It isn't only that they have conflicting hopes and dreams and interests, but they make each other worse; it is what is most distinctive about the other that they least like. Author's Response: My beta put me onto the "Crouch Memorial Language Institute" website. Check out the French translation for "Marvolo". You'll never look at Voldemort the same way again...
