Man, I love this story. The Snape/Hermione dynamic is really fantastic; you have a largely successful and accomplished woman being thrown off her game by dealing with a familiar face in a new context. Skillfully handled.

Maybe I shouldn't be happy but I am.

This is a really excellent story. I'd been avoiding it for some reason (the title, I suspect) but I think you've done a superb job of showing two well-intentioned people who love each other who can't, for various reasons, make a marriage work.

Unfortunately, this chapter where Hermione visits Ron in France has been replaced since the move to Mage with chapter 6, which is excellent as well, but leaves a bit of a hole in the story. I had to go back to the old Ashwinder site to read it. But it was quite worth the trouble. I thought your depiction of the way that Ron had moved on, and Hermione's slow realization that everything wasn't suddenly going to get better, was very well done.

I'm glad Ron found a job that suits him without comprising himself. Too bad he couldn't get things to work with Hermione. I'm not a Ron fan and usually root for Hermione/Snape, but when the story started out with Ron being depressed I felt bad for him.

Ooh, I'm feeling the Snape buildup. *sigh* I'm so hopelessly in love with this man. I just hope Hermione realizes she and Sev were made for each other sooner rather than later. < p>I need a sandwich...then I'll start on chpater 4. Loving it!
