| I know it sounds odd right now, but this is a really charming story. While divorce isn't charming, the storytelling is. And it's a very real situation. I like how you keep Hermione self-confident instead of self-pitying. It's a well grounded story. I can't wait to read more! Author's Response: Thanks. I didn't want to kill Ron off (been there, done that in "Into the North"), so the only option was divorce. Hermione gets one small chance at self-pity in the next chapter. | |||

| I picked this story today, and I have fallen in love with it. I truly like that the characters you are fleshing out are real, fallible, and are not perfect. You've set this for Hermione to be on the verge of a new life, and I definitely am going to like finding out how she meets it -- and with whom!
(P.S. And I feel really picky for pointing this out, because it's such a small, small thing and really not something that has much to do with the story, but in the last chapter, as Hermione was having tea and attempting to appear as a lady, I believe she would delicately have crossed her ankles and tucked them slightly under her chair . A lady does not cross her legs -- not in the way this expression is generally used.) Author's Response: Ah, thank you for pointing that out. | Hey kailin! That's a great story so far -very original and well-written. The plot is very good and new. Hermione and Ron's marriage and their problems are portrayed very convincingly as well! That chapter with Snape was really funny by the way! He seems just like Snape should be, I think, and the thing with his hair was great:) I think you've done a good job showing that Snape, even if he wasn't sent to Azkaban after his trial, would have severe problems in the wizarding world. I really hope that you'll be quick to update because this story sounds really interesting! Bye, garnet. | Wonderfully realistic portrayal of the end of a relationship. Both of them knew what was coming, but neither wanted to actually say the words out loud. | I don't know why I waited this long to read this story. I love your writing; you have a way of imbuing the magical world with the same emotions and problems that ordinary people face and making it feel so real. Instead of falling back on a dramatic device (e.g. - finding Ron is having an affair), you've highlighted the pathos that exists when a marriage ends "not with a bang, but a whimper" and it's heartbreaking. I'm really looking forward to reading more of this story. Author's Response: You're right - so often there is no BIG thing, no BIG event, just a gradual lessening where two people are no longer together. | |||
