< p>I loved that last sentence "killing him was absolutely the worst moment of my life. And for a life filled with worst moments, that’s saying something.” That sentence was the best part of their dialogue. And for a fic containing so much excellent writing, that's saying something. *grins and rushes of to next chapter*
Author's Response: Thanks so much for the lovely review. I have to tell you, though - Sycophant Hex has lost the chapter which precedes this one, and it's not reposted yet. Check Fanfiction.net for Chapter 7, "Pasta con Reality".

Well, wherever you first encountered the ideas, this is brilliant stuff. It absolutely rings true, and I'm enjoying it very much. You haven't put a foot wrong so far; good job! I look forward eagerly to the next update.
Author's Response: Thanks so much! I'm watching my feet carefully, so I hope things progress as intended.

I've again read this chapter over at fanfiction.net and I think it's an amazing story! Very different from your -equally good- story 'Into the North'. The characters are very well developed and close to the canon work. You're giving a very likely glimpse at what might become of Ron, Harry, Hermione and Snape. I love that you almost never resort to clichees and stick to the original character as they're described by J.K. Rowling. Hermione is still a bookish know-it-all and Snape is still not a very likeable person. That's one of the great things of your stories! Another good thing is that Hermione doesn't constantly go on about what a bad husband Ron was because a lot of stories use Hermione's hate and superiority over Ron to fit the story. But your Hermione is unsure of herself, is self-reflecting and knows that it was her fault as well that her marriage didn't work. I love this story and really can't wait for another update. Bye, Garnet.
Author's Response: Thanks for the compliments! Hope you continue to read and enjoy.

"...killing him was absolutely the worst moment of my life. And for a life filled with worst moments, that’s saying something.”
That was probably the saddest line in the whole chapter! AND YOU STOPPED RIGHT THERE!!! Okay; hurry up with your next chapter: "Eating Dinner at the Pub."
Author's Response: Followed by... "After-Dinner Mints at the Pub"?
Couldn't resist. Thanks for reading!
Reader's Response: Well, after Hermione's experiences with alcohol I hardly think it would be fitting her inteligence to overindulge again. I assumed they would eat dinner and adjourn elsewhere for dessert, or perhaps a thorough barbering.
Do pubs even provide mints?
Instead of, "After-Dinner Mints at the Pub," we could try for, "A Date at the British Museum to Research the Ancient Magic of Amenohtep" !
Author's Response: I have no idea if pubs provide mints, never having been inside one. And my Brit-picker assures me that couples in Britain do not date, they merely 'go out together'. How about 'A Joint Excursion to the British Museum...'?

11-11-2006 14:55 What a terrific story sofar! I like the idea of Hermione being portrayed realistically, whose choices have consequences. I feel it is also a realistic portrayal of Snape's likely prospects post war. Great job.

Author's Response: Yes, realistic is the key word. I think that Harry would be the likeliest character to have a 'happy ending', simply because he started with so little. For everybody else, happiness is a matter of degree.
Thanks for reading!
