| Now THAT is a chapter! Well done. Jam packed with plot, without any trace of rushing the story. From where I sit, Poppy and Severus had no business telling the headmaster anything back in '77. That was up to Hermione. Dumbledore took it upon himself to not tell anyone his plans. If they had said anything, it would have been too late anyway. Dumbledore is in no place to scold anyone over this. As you can tell, I've never been a big fan of him. Author's Response: Thank you ever so much for your lovely compliment! I'm glad it didn't come across as rushed. I had thought about putting this into a few chapters but decided against it because this is a story about the relationship between Severus and Hermione. I'm glad it didn't seem rushed to you. I worked hard to keep the plot intact while jumping forward in time rapidly. I agree, it wasn't Severus or Poppy's job to fill Dumbledore in on things, especially since they had no idea what was really going on. Dumbledore seems to think that everyone should report everything to him but life just doesn't work that way. You have to earn a confidence, and he obviosuly failed. We'll see how Severus and Hermione react to him soon. Chapter twelve is nearly finished, so it shouldn't be a long wait for it. | Thirty-one weeks is only 5 weeks early, unless in your HPverse they are behind on the medical tech, the baby should be fine. I think I need to clarify my last review, it wasn't that Hermione chose to keep the baby I had a problem with. It was how you presented it. You made it sound like Hermione didn't even want the baby and that she was just having it because she felt obligated. Saying 'It's not the baby's fault you were dumb and got pregnant' is classic pro-life rhetoric. Author's Response: Actually, thirty-one weeks is nine weeks early. A full term pregnancy is forty weeks in total. I was induced at thirty-eight weeks with my daughter, and they did a battery of tests to make sure she was ready to be born. Most of the lung developement in a baby happens in the last few weeks of pregnancy, so even only a couple of weeks can sometimes lead to trouble. Nine weeks could lead to serious health issues or death for a newborn child. As for your previous review, don't think on it. I'm not angry or upset at you. I'm sorry Hermione's dialogue in the moment came across that way to you, but she was in shock. She hadn't really had time to let the idea of having a baby sink in yet. She was, at that point, trying to decide what to do based on the morals I have written into her character in this story. As you can see from the past chapters, she is not upset about having the baby, but is simply overwhelmed. She loves Severus and the baby, she just needed time for it to all sink in. | Wow. That's confusing. Poor Hermione. I hope the baby will be ok. Severus will be so hurt if something happens. I think he loves them more than he wants to admit. Really good. Keep going. Author's Response: Yes, Severus is terrified to admit that he still has emotions buried under the nasty facade he has created for himself. I feel sorry for him. I'm glad you are enjoying my story.
