| What an excellent premise for a story, as well as an original method of relaying the facts of the story to the reader. My heart aches for Hermione, as well as Severus -- for surely the only motive that would cause him to make such a sacrifice of himself, his time, and his life, is an abiding love for her. | Sigh ... works well as a one-shot, but I would love to see another chapter, showing what happens next. How long does he continue to be her caretaker? Does he ever grow to sent her presence? What happens when she wakes up - is she able to hear him all this time, will she choose to stay with him? (Yes and yes, I hope!) Maybe a sequel...I did work out a lot of Hermione backstory but did not include it because the fic became rather unwieldy. I'll try to work it into the sequel. | OK, apart from the big questions of how they got away with a marriage to a vegetative woman and the reason why Snape was willing to take such a step (obviously by his recollections he wasn't overly coerced into it), this works well as a stand alone story. However, it has so much potential to be expanded. I'd really like to see at least the events surrounding the decision to marry Snape to Hermione, and the way some of the other characters feel about her state and Snape's actions, even if you never tell us how she came to be in that state or if she will come out of it.
