| I love this chapter. The fact that Minerva remembers his mother wipes away any qualms I had about OOC-ness. Who we are and who we show ourselves to be are most definitely two different things. | Fascinating. I thought that the first chapter was good enough to stand on its own as a one-shot, but I'm finding myself really looking forward to seeing where you go with this. Good work! | I quite like that you've used Minerva to voice the shock, distress and dismay that would so readily be wrung from the audience after hearing Severus' confession to an unconscious Hermione. She is such a formidable witch that I can easily see her mounting an offensive on Severus' isolation, loneliness and reserve. Such a very nice chapter. Author's Response: Thank you! I almost feel sorry for what Severus will face in the future...a full offensive from some very determined Gryffindors, all determined to make him happy. He just won't know what to do with them! | Great, great chapter. Minerva's diary sounds just like her vocal speech, and her reaction of horror, pity and guilt upon finding out what Severus' childhood was really like was exactly what I would expect from her. I really like getting the perspective of a third party into this unusual situation, and seeing just why it was that this 'marriage' was the only way to save Hermoine's life. I also like finding out a little bit more about how she ended up this way and what everyone else is doing to try to bring her back. But I think my favourite part is Minerva's observations on how much Severus has done, and continues to do, even though the war is over and he is now free to do whatever he would like. I can't wait to read more of this story and find out just what Hermoine thinks of all this! Author's Response: Thank you! I kept having trouble with my Hermione chapter, as this other voice was clamoring to be heard. At first I thought it was Dumbledore, but he wouldn't work either. | Oh Annie this was a perfect bridge piece! I'm glad Minerva volunteered. She's been giving me trouble with my fic. Perhaps you could help me to get her see reason? LOL.
