I also saw that you added the warnings of non-consensual sex and some others; I'm cringing a little at that, knowing that what happened to Hermione must have been bad, but still cringing to find out "how" bad it was (sort of like the graphic rape scene in "Hinge of Fate")

Regarding others' not liking it, I can only assume they're uncomfortable with 1. Her being married to Snape without her consent or knowledge; and 2. His consummating the marriage on her without her ability to resist or choose. To those, I can only say, my own personal take from the hints you gave in your story, were: 1. If she wasn't married to a wizard post-haste, her parents would remove her from the magical world entirely, where she would probably end up hopelessly stuck in a muggle mental hospital for the rest of her life, since I'm assuming the cause of her coma is magical, not medical, and needs a magical solution to correct if there is to be any hope for her. Therefore, they HAD to find a way to keep her in their world legally, and the only way to do that was to have her married to a wizard, and one who could be trusted to protect her. 2. If if remember correctly from other fics, it's pretty much a general convention in all marriage fics that a marriage which is not consummated is not truly legal, and can be dissolved. So, again, if she were to be kept in the magical world where there is some hope of help for her, this had to be done. Please not the author does say that afterward, Snape went out and got drunk at the Hogshead Inn, and cried.

I can't wait for Hermione's thoughts ("You never took advantage"???), and for (please please please) the happy ending that can potentially come with this story. No offense to Michmak, who wrote the very compelling "Heart With No Companion", which has the similar theme of Hermione in an irreversible coma, but her ending, though bittersweet, just broke my heart. As I often tell writers on my reivews, I know that sad endings truly are "real life", but gods know we get enough "real life" in real life; in our stories we need sometimes to have the world the way it ought to be or the way we wish it was, not the way it actually is.

Author's Response: The non-con warning concerns Snape's childhood memories and Hermione's non-memory of the consummation. Likewise slash warning is for his memories (which may be expanded upon as things develop). People seem to be squicked by the consummation, which is okay as sex with a comatose woman should be squicky. It sure squicked Severus! In my story, a marriage must be consummated in order to be legal (as you said) and it is for life. They can't get a divorce if she wakes up and says she doesn't want to be married.
