| For some reason -- even though I've been visiting this site for a couple of years now -- this is the first time that I've come across this story. In all honesty -- even though we all know the answer by now concerning Severus's true loyalties -- I think your theory of the liquid in the basin being another Horcrux is in some ways even better than the one which JKR herself created. I know, I know...sacrilege on my part! Nevertheless, I think it very handily addresses the question of how Severus was able to summon up enough hatred to direct the Killing Curse at Dumbledore -- because Dumbledore allowed Severus to see that there was now a piece of Voldemort's soul residing in his body. Very clever theory indeed...even if it turned out not to be true. Author's Response: Bowled over by your review. Yes, this story is now AU, but to compare my theory favourably with JK's writing? | You've no idea how much I cried after HBP. I was so depressed. This story was clever and oddly touching. I can just see them facing the new threat together. Nice job! Author's Response: I actually threw my copy of HBP across the room! Then I went back and read carefully, and saw all the clues that said he was on our side. I had no doubt whatsoever, and I read DH just waiting for the chapter that would clear his name. Thanks for reading and reviewing. Glad you enjoyed it. Lol. | |||

| Ah a guess on who might be knocking on Severus' door. Hum... you implied at the begining that only the Malfoys and Voldy knew where he lives. Then Hermione came. My first guess would be Voldykins but then he would have to come out of his lair. My second guess would be Harry or Ron if not both. But then again, they would have to sneak past Order's members and follow Hermione without her knowing so. It seems unlikely because she would have known (to think otherwise would be an insult to her intelligence). Besides, they would have been detected earlier by Severus and wouldn't have triggered the Sneakoscope as they are no enemy of Hermione. My last guess would be someone from the Order. I don't think the Malfoys would be the kind of person to come to him without a good reason. Draco is most likely to be dead, tortured or in hidding. Narcissa doesn't have her son to fret over (i.e. Unbreakable Vow). And Lucious... well, why would he come? As for Bellatrix (she knows where he lives since the UV and it seems unlikely that he could have Obliviated her in Narcissa's presence), like Lucious, why would she come? So, my first guess seems more likely than the other. Voldykins would trigger the Sneakoscope for both Severus and Hermione and it would give such a dramatic turn after what looks like an amazing sexual encounter and unxepected bonding. Well, that's all for the guessing. It was a nice and refreshing story.
