| Overall, great story. I love the characterization of Snape through the first half, love the explanation Hermione gives Snape (absolutely brilliant). However: the interaction between Snape and Hermione in the middle half seemed out of sorts with the rest of this piece. Everything else seemed so unique, so spot on, that a cliched coming together of that sort just didn't measure up to the rest. But otherwise, I really liked it. Author's Response: I can appreciate what you mean about the middle bit but...sex sells! No, but honestly, the sex helped emphasis that Snape believes himself to be bad, when in actual fact he had Hermione's consent to sex as he had Dumbledore's consent to kill. Really pleased you liked the rest of it, though. Lol. | |||

| Whoa! What a powerful, troubling, right-on-the spot short story! This is so canon that even with the sex part it just seems like it should be the last chapter in the HBP. I think your "James" theory is excellent and explains so much that the "HBP" needed to correct or clearify. The Horcrux idea you have of it being ingested by Dumbledore also answers so much! You are too good and JKR will be sending hit teams of publishers and lawyers to your home...listen!...is that a knock at your door? ;-) Love It..Love your stories! I've sure got a few questions to ask and I won't let her off like those Mugglenet interviewers did. Glad you liked the James theory - I'm pretty sure he's going to turn out to have been worse than we've been led to believe. It would be quite a twist, wouldn't it? | A Very interesting theory! It would work too (except I think JKR is determined to redeem Snape in the worst possible light, if she redeems him at all. Which is a pity, because the way she is going, it looks like she'll take the easy way out, and that would detract from her best character.) But it is a fantastic theory and very workable. Who knows, maybe JKR will take pity on Snape and allow him a full redemption. And, if she is feeling generous, she will allow him to live. It would be cool if she did something like your story. Great story by the way! ^_^ Author's Response: No, I think JKR has a twist in mind for Snape that even we haven't considered yet. He is certainly now one of the three most important characters in the story. Didn't we always know he was more than a second player. Thanks so much for reading my story and for leaving your review. | First post-HBP fic I read, and surely this one can be a companion! Very, very well done! I love it I love it I love it! You're not JKR, right? :D Very well thought theories; very possible indeed. Hope you write more one-shot fics as great as this one! (sometimes longer fics kill fans because of the long wwait, hehe!)
