| The only way Hermione and Theo Nott could have a successful marriage would be if it was a cold-blooded business deal : right after the consummation, Theo goes on his travels, while Hermione lives in his London house ( with a generous allowance for household expenses) and pursues her career. Whenever Theo drops by, she acts the part of the loyal wife. That's probably pretty much what Severus' marriage is like. To his credit, he did do his best to warn Hermione, but she, understandably, was deaf to his arguments. I can see why she thinks marriage to Theo is her best option, since the alternative is to flee the country. Author's Response: Yes, you're exactly right - a marriage of convenience is exactly what Severus and Cordelia have, and it's one way Hermione and Theo could work things out. | I am completely mystified as to how this is going to turn into a HG/SS story. You have weaved an incredible web and I can't even imagine where you are going with this. I am happily hooked. :D Author's Response: Hurray - Happily hooked is just exactly how I like my readers. :) There are thirty-three long chapters to this story, so it will be a long journey for them both. | I really appreciate the realism of this chapter. In spite of her education, Hermione is still a relative novice in human relations, and the life you've given to her totally unrealistic fantasies centered around Theo are completely true-to-life and enthralling. I recall this chapter and the several following causing a slow, aching build. This is, after all, an HG-SS, not a Granger-Nott piece, but I feel wretched watching her pin all her hopes on this and knowing the outcome. Author's Response: Thanks, Leraiv. :) Yes, she really is a novice, and she has imagined Theo into something he might not be. Poor Hermione does go rather through the wringer in this story! LB x | |||
