Reviews for Umbra

Interesting. I'm curious to see where this goes. Ron as the bitter cheat seems like a darker side of his character that JKR won't explore, but which I believe could be the real him.

Not to be picky here, but a trans-Atlantic Knight's Bus? Wouldn't a portkey have been more prudent? And what of Percy? He might be a jerk, but he should still be included in the breakdown of what happened to the Weasley children. Nice story--has good potential.

Getting interesting. Ron is being difficult, but that's one type of realistic reaction to the sudden appearance of a previously unknown child -- at least from what you read in the Dear Abby columns :) I kind of prefer it to the hearts-and-roses sort of thing. Looking forward to seeing how they sort everything out.

I read several chapters at a time so I didn't leave reviews for each, but I think this story is great!

I like this story -- because it doesn't consist of Hermione returning with Snape's child and happily falling into his arms. There's some interesting backstory here, that you've left to be discerned later, so I'm happy to keep reading. Thanks for the update.

such an interesting idea. The usual story is Hermione has had Snape's child but this is an interesting turn of things.

Poor Athena. I don't know if I want to know how Ron is going to treat her. Awe..... Poor Hermione for having to pick up the pieces... More Please!!!!

Oh dear. I'm afraid this is going to be one of those stories where Ron is a berk. And unfortunately Athena seems to have inherited his insensitivity. I'd have thought that as the only child of a single mother she'd have been a bit more tuned in to Hermione's feelings. Nor has she asked her mother for her reasons for leaving Ron and England. You've made Hermione very believable here, feeling a little jealous about Athena's favoring of Ron and yet not feeling entitled to admit it. But I hope we'll hear soon about why she's done this. Thanks for posting!

Author's Response: It's... difficult for me not to want to make Ron into a 'berk' - what with this story. But I really, really do believe in happy-ish endings, even for all the angst I have planned for this story.
