| Definitely wrong to not tell Athena her father didn't/doesn't want her. She's old enough to know that Santa Claus isn't real, and her idealized dad isn't real and she's not going to spend holidays with her dad. She's old enough to know the truth, and I hope Hemione tells her. Author's Response: I agree - but at the same time, imagine the alternative: SOMETHING happened between Hermione and Ron, something that made her run away... so, we can assume(this argument doesn't really correspond to the plot exactly) that Hermione was very hurt/upset/furious. As a child of divorced parents, I grew up with my Mom telling me all sorts of really, really awful things about my father. When he and I finally did form something a relationship - it was when I went to high school. So, not saying that Hermione would do that - or wouldn't. But maybe she just didn't want to think about(she is,after all, human) and maybe she didn't want to take away any dreams Athena had and replace them with a rather crap reality. But that said - I agree, and she will. Thanks for reading. | |||

| I can't help but think Hermione should be completely honest with Athena about how Ron wanted Hermione to terminate the pregnancy and never wanted to be a father, instead of making excuses about Ron having to work, etc. Poor Athena has already planned on spending holidays with her "dad" - how many more lies from Hemione can she take? | |||

| Firstly I really like the premise you've created for this story and I like your characterization of both Snape and Hermione however I was put of by your Characterization Athenea. I found the idea that a preteen when informed of being a Witch had question or suprises or any real reaction at all. I also find it odd that she would be so quick to believe some stranger spinning a story about witches and wizards that she would begin packing. I did enjoy the story and I hope to read more . | |||
