| Hmm it seems that Athena is really quite immature for someone who takes after a mother that's so intelligent. She didn't pick up on the tension from Ron at all? If she could read Lavender's reaction, she should've been able to sense that ones father patting them on the head is not an indication of happy arrivals. Author's Response: I do have this fear that I'm making Athena too immature at some things.... but rest assured she does pick up on Ron's actions.... and will be mulling over them in a few chapters. | |||

Just call her Mary-Sue! Author's Response: Hmmm. Well, she hasn't cure AIDS - she has developed treatments for it. I'm not sure Athena is perfect -but I do see her as a reflection of Hermione. I have to say, I've always pictured Hermione to be as much of an overachiever as she could possibly be, and that working towards saving lives, humanity, etc. seems to be right up her alley - what with SPEW. | |||

| Will Harry hex Ron to oblivion when they leave? I'd like to have at Lavender. I'm thinking that if Ron was so very against the prospect of knowing his daughter or being in her life, that he wouldn't have consented to allow her to go to Hogwarts. Why did he interfere if he was going to treat her like this? I think Hermione is being very accomodating, but that to let her daughter believe that Ron will in any way want to have a relationship with her is going to bite her in the backside sooner than later. She's setting her daughter up for a huge fall by not giving her any of the facts, even so much as "Your daddy didn't want to be one so I left with you". Bad bad bad... But I love your Harry. (can I say that when I first started reading this, I thought you were going to make Harry and Ron gay!!! LOL! It was them at the dinner table that threw me. ) Interesting story so far. | Very interesting set- up. So Snape and Hermione did have something in the past - for some reasons she has a one-night stand with Ron, resulting in a baby. But how can he say that she told him she would get rid of it, if she left right after the final battle? She could hardly know by then could she? And I feel sorry for lavender as well... not an easy situation for her either. When all that is said I have two comments. One, Hermione needs to come straight with the girl and tell her the truth. Otherwise her fathers reation will only hurt more. And two, I think Athena is written very immature for a 11 y old. A girl that age would know that sometimes mum and dad do not live together. Author's Response: Actually, if you read closely.... Molly says that Hermione left after the victory celebration - not after the final battle. In my mind, accounting for aftermath/recovery, etc. that leaves a window of one to two weeks for me to work with. As far as being immature - right, she DOES know that sometimes they don't live together. Perhaps she is immature, though. Thanks for reading. | |||

| Thanks for the rapid update! I'm imagining that Ron must be an incredible git to be behaving as he is. I'd like to think Harry would whack Ron up the back of the head for not treating Athena better. | |||

| I can't wait for her to figure out that her father would rather she hadn't even been born. I think I'd turn right back around -back to America, if I were her. I don't blame Hermione for one bit, keeping her a secret! Ron never wanted her, so he never got her-it's as simple as that! (Kind of squicked by Severus watching her get conceived though, eww. I suppose that he can say that he was THERE when it happened, can't he?) | |||
