Reviews for The Mage

hmmm, yet another mentioning of the twins. And it was just it. I'm very eager to finally see them in action. :) Nightmare with crepes was fun, though I myself LOVE everything with cherries, they are not scary at all. Nightgowns reminded me one of my most favorite lines from the original - you know, when the elderly wizard confesses how he likes wearing a nightgown because he likes a refreshing breeze :)))) The first lesson in discipline was nicely done by our Potions master. I sometimes feel that Hermione needs a bit of discipline instilled in her - she is after all a brightest witch of her age and sometimes I think it gets to her head a bit (all geniuses are like that sometimes). And while she is also now confused with all Mage thing, discipline can help her to clear things out. Hm, now I think I somehow lost the thought I wanted to explain, but in general I am still waiting for more lessons. And twins. And more of Severus' witty interaction with others. :)

Author's Response: Hee, I LURVE everything cherry. I think I can eat like a bucket of them and am always eagerly awaiting the season. I'm so happy to see your continuous support, by the way. And here's me promising some Weasely action and more S/H in the next chapter, which should be up shortly.

So, is Hermione a Pinky and The Brain fan ?

Author's Response: Well, she's not exactly a fan (though I certainly am), but she's watched an episode or two :)

So, Hermione, Snape, Dumbledore and the Weasley Twins are all Mages? I thought they were supposed to be rare.

Author's Response: They are. Hermione, Snape, Twins and Dumbledore span three generations (or more, if you consider Albus's age :)), and besides, HOgwartsa is a place of a rather dense wizarding population, so no wonder there would be a few.

I am one of those awful people who read stories, adore them, recommend them to other people.....and almost never review. However, I've read the first few chapters of this as you've posted them, and in addition to a really original premise, your writing is fantastic. It's always the small things that make a writer stand out to me - for example, Hermione's dream about the crepes, which is not overly signficant to the plot, was awesome. So, please continue writing! I'm looking forward to this story helping to quell the boredom of the upcoming summer. =]

Author's Response: Aww, thank you! To know that my story moved someone who does not usually review to leave a note isa double treat. I must confess to having the same trait, so don't you worry :) I'm glad you're liking my story and hope to keep your interest.

Loving this, question though, with 3 stories on the go how often will you be updating? : )

Author's Response: Aww, thanks. Never fear, I do have 3 stories posted on this site, but 2 of them are completed one-shots, and The Mage is already written, I just keep brushing it up. Updated should be once a week, at least.

I am so intrigued and excited by this story. A few chapters have utterly hooked me in. I am having a difficult time resolving myself to waiting for the next installment. My one and only peeve towards your most descriptive and enthralling writing is that, on occassion, you have a tendency to use clashing descriptives. For instance, you described Hermione's gait as shuffling, ungraceful and lithe. All within a matter of a few sentences. Nothing major at all. Just...something to think about, I suppose. With a minor amount of attention, your writing could indeed become one of the best of the best. You have a rather raw, original talent that I am finding to be quite indispensible. ~Mia

Author's Response: Thank you very much for a thoughtful review and your comprehensive critique. I do tend to overdo it on the flowery language side, my bad :) I'll try to keep your recommendations in mind! And thank you very much for reading.

Brilliant ! I can not wait to see what type of mage Hermione is. A bookworm ? It would be hilarious. Sev will be on the floor laughing.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you're liking it so far. We will surely find out Hermione's type, in its own time :) and I hope you'll be satisfied with the answer.

It is a bit surprising that Dumbledore did not set up a meeting between the twins and Hermione ahead of time. Sure, she has Snape's tutoring, but you'd think he'd want her to gain as much information as possible in a short time. I look forward to her springing her new status on them in the next chapter. I wonder how the twins will react?

Author's Response: Well, Dumbledore, as always, has his own agenda :) Thank you for reading!
