I've been convincing my GF to ship SSHG to..and has been endorsing your fics as an intro to the world of fanfiction.
Anyway, good job. And epic writing.
Just want to hear it straight from you - as an author - can I then safely assume that after all those years, Prof. Snape has already moved on from Lily and acknowledged her love for Ms. Granger?
For there was no mention of it thus far..and as I am rather concerned, it'll be too unfair to Hermione if she'd just been Snape's rebound for a second chance in life.
Coz according on their last convo in the tent scene, Hermione is hurt that Snape simply couldnt let go of Lily. And Granger wanted so bad to be that 'girl' instead, which was tragic.
Soooo...y'know... Author's Response: Thank you for your awesome comments, sir! ::Passes you a manly tissue:: I always write Snape as someone who learned to let go of Lily, and even though at that moment, he might have still carried a torch for her, in my mind, he put Hermione first, last and always, and his boys as well. That's just how I've always seen it. I truly believe that if Severus had lived, he would have learned to put his love for Lily in the proper place, and eventually moved on. Without Dumbledore constantly fanning those flames of guilt, he would have eventually found his way without her - just my two cents, but a good question to think about. I hope you can 'turn' your GF to SSHG - it makes sense! Thank you again! :) | |||

| How many times have I read this amazing piece of work, and I still cry my eyes out? Every single time I ball like a baby. It is so artfully written the emotions are so raw. It never ceases to amaze me. I love coming upon it from the random works, but I also seek it out when its been too long and I need to read it :-)
Maybe you can answer a question that won't let me go. When Severus tells Harry that his children do know, does that mean that the boys know who their parents are in the history books? I was always curious if they were that good of actors to keep that secret around Harry Potter. In my mind, they have no idea. I'm curious how you actually wrote it. Author's Response: Thank you so very much for your awesome comment - I am always thrilled when a reader returns to one of my fics because they enjoy it - and this one in particular, which, as you know, is rather special to me for a variety of reasons. In answer to your question, I have always felt that Severus and Hermione imbued in their boys the ideals of bravery and sacrifice, and while they had not told the younger boys the entire story, Skylar knew, and kept the secret. I also think they would probably tell each in turn, as they grew older. It's an interesting question, and one I had to ask myself, to be honest! Thank you! <3 | |||

| WONDERFUL story! I've read it many times and will read it again & again. Have it tucked away in my bookmark folders for easy access. I know the story practically by heart but STILL the emotions wash over me! The love, fear, desperation, sadness,regret.... You really have a gift for making printed words come to life! | You really have the knack to making me cry my eyes out. I can't imagine being in Harry's place 20 years after the war and coming across them, realising everything that you've missed with them in that time but also maybe finally letting go of the guilt that it had been your fault. That even though it hurt you could be happy knowing they'd lived and loved, have a wonderful family of their own that they'd done it for. I'd give anything for the Deathly Hallows to have actually ended this way, it was just as touching but far more satisfying. As ever, I'm blown away by what you've written and so grateful. | You really paint the image of desperate need they have for each other. The insecurities Severus has capture his character very truly, after everything he's been through his whole life I can't imagine him able to accept the truth of her feelings no matter how obvious they are. I love that you've chosen the Forest of Dean for this story, such a terrifying time for them completely cut off from the world and Hermione wasting away without him. Can't wait to finish the story.
