| "Dumbledore, pushing, always pushing him, then keeping Snape in the dark for the most important pieces of information. His taunting words: "I prefer not to put all my secrets in one basket, particularly not a basket that spends so much time dangling on the arm of Lord Voldemort." I didn't really like Dumbledore throughout the series - I never saw much evidence of his supposed affection for Harry - but that particular comment infuriated me. What a needlessly cruel thing to say. I enjoyed Hermione's plotting with Phineas - I hope she and Severus are in a fun place with no snakes, nor any manipulative, evil overlords, from which they can make an appropriate finger gesture to Dumbledore's Greater Good. I do feel sorry for Harry and Ron, though. I hope someday they learn the truth. Author's Response: I really hated Dumbledore when he said that in DH. To me it was, as you say, cruel and purposefully cutting, especially when he asked Severus, 'how many have you killed? and he replied, 'lately only the ones I was unable to save.' You can hear the desperation. He loved and hated Albus in equal measure, I think, but mostly he hated the way Albus played on his guilt like a trout on a line. I just hated it as much as he did! The next (and final) chapter will hopefully tie up a lot of loose ends. Thank you for reading and reviewing the story. I hope you continue to enjoy it! | |||
