| Hmm, our dear Severus knows the word aggro? *grin* As does Hermione? Fabulous scene, so tasty! He's so broken, I love it. I love how Hermione knows she can't fix him, knows she can't make him trust her enough to give his heart fully to her. I love how he showed his love through the supplies and the spell. | Merlin, but that was beautiful. Beautiful. I am staunchly E.W.E., so the words "Nineteen years later" filled me with dread that a powerful not-quite-ambiguous ending from the previous chapter would be spoiled. But damned if you didn't pull it off with an incredible grace and restraint. I love how you allowed Harry to tell them all the things he needed to say; I was particularly moved by the discussion of Albus Severus' name. I really got a full, rich vision of the family's life in Australia (wonderful use of canon detail there, by the way-- of *course* that's where they would go!). Your writing throughout this piece is stirring and vivid; I don't throw around words like 'lyrical,' but I'm using it for this story. It is so rare to find an author who can write true erotica, emotionally charged dialogue, and evocative description with equal skill. I'll admit to being a little disturbed at the idea of Severus using a fertility spell on Hermione without her knowledge, particularly since at that point he seems both too insecure and too certain of failure to have yet more hanging over his head in the midst of a war, but I suppose I buy your justification and Hermione's joy in her pregnancy. Congratulations on a gem of a story. Author's Response: Wow! Ivy, thank you so much for your amazing review. I'm just thunderstruck! I originally wrote erotic fiction, so it just stood to reason I'd have to make their moments together pretty hot - after all, that's what we want from Severus and Hermione! Thank you for sticking with the Epilogue. I actually wrote it first, thinking 'I wish I had a better ending for everyone', so I wrote one! I hope you will continue to enjoy my other fanfic. | Poor Harry and Ron had so much guilt for so many years! I'm so sad at this ending, simply because I like to think that Hermione would've found a way to let those close to her know she was okay, even if she still wanted the anonymity from the public. I suppose in my mind she's too loyal to simply up and run away. However this was a very well written take on the many possibilities within fanfic. Kudos!! Author's Response: The lovely thing about fanfic is that is precisely that - Fan Fiction, so you can go in almost any direction. I have seen some extremes, which were interesting, but when someone tells me I've captured the essence of the characters JKR wrote, I think I've accomplished my mission. | |||
