| I was reading it through before leaving a review...but this chapter floored me. So completely moving. That he needed to face Albus and the grief that Albus' request caused is so well done in this chapter that I had to stop and leave a review. You had me crying. It was authentic. What Albus asked of Severus is unimaginable and you capture that pain subtly and you also capture their relationship too. It HAD to be a close relationship...had to be...even if Canon didn't have the space to make that entirely clear. You did so nicely. Thanks for this! Author's Response: Thanks! It's wonderful to hear how much this chapter moved you! Written pre-DH, my take on Albus was much more generous than canon proved to be. I suppose I wanted something more positive for Severus in it. | |||

| I can't believe I've never left you a review for this piece (I thought we'd discussed it before), but I shall remedy that oversight now. I'm re-reading stories for the SS/HG Awards, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was very pleased you didn't take this down the 'cheating' route, which so many have done before, and that as a result of Hermione's engagement, Severus' tactics changed . . . with the most unexpected and beneficial results.
