Hermione could hardly concentrate all day Saturday and Sunday, seriously looking forward to Monday. Even her professors noticed. Professor McGonagall even smiled at her when she’d admonished Hermione for her inattention. After lessons on Saturday, Hermione had hurriedly written her essays, completing the required length of parchments without her usually scrupulous handwriting and supplemental supportive paraphrasing from every possible book supporting her statements. It was the first time she’d ever written her essays simply based upon her own thoughts and suppositions, supported by examples, but not actually quoting the books. She hurried to the owlery at nearly eleven at night to send her letters: one to Ginny, the other to Luna. Her note had only said that she had great news to tell them and she’d see them Sunday night.

As soon as she’d completed her required work on Sunday, Hermione had run up to her dorm room, grabbed her overnight bag and ran from the castle. No sooner than she’d passed the gates, than she’d Disapparated, arriving at the Burrow and gasping for breath.

Ginny and Luna came running form the house even before she reached the door. “What happened?” Ginny asked excitedly. “We got your notes, but you were so vague! You could have told us something!”

Even Luna was staring at her expectantly.

Hermione laughed. “He told me that he loves me!” All three girls shrieked in delight, and Ginny and Luna both hugged Hermione.

Ha! I knew it! I knew all along that arnica is good for quite a few potions! :)) Very nice, quiet chapter. It feels like well deserved rest for them, although I somehow doubt that the night will be spent sleeping.

Author's Response: Thank you very much. I'm sure some sleep might take place...

I just started reading your story about an hour ago, and I am totally hooked. I love the slow transitions in the relationship. It makes the emotions real and believable. I can't wait for an update!

Author's Response: Thank you very much.

First review, yeah! Good good chapter, but is there any more coming from that scene? Hmm? ;)

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it. not this time. I put it in the chapter. But I do have the next one written and hope to have it ready soon.

I really like how you are using the words and making an interesting story with them. I've even seen a few I didn't know. Thank you.

Author's Response: Thank you. I'm glad you are enjoying this. By the way - here's the bonus!

The next morning Hermione stretched and yawned, turning on the cot and waking the wizard next to her. She smiled when she realized she was waking up, curled up in his arms. She was utterly exhausted and hoped he didn’t want to get up yet. They’d kissed nearly all night between the steps of the potion, and his hands had wandered a little, gently caressing her as he slyly explored her body. It had been incredible. But she’d literally fallen asleep with her head on his shoulder when the potion was finished.

He stirred, his arm tightening around her as he pulled her back into his arms. Hermione smiled, feeling his nose on the back of her head.

“Morning,” she said with a yawn. “Time to get up?” She tried twisting so she could face him, but he held onto her too tightly.

“No, not yet,” he snarled softly as he nuzzled her cheek, kissing her once before relaxing.

Hermione relaxed, grinning as she lay in his arms. She’d give him another half hour or so, then wake him.

I love reading this story, as well as your other recent works. How on earth do you keep the stories straight in your head?

Author's Response: Notes. I have a thumbdrive with a folder for each story, each folder has folders with information, a callendar of the year I'm writing about with the moon phases, a daily planner, an outline of what's happened, an outline of where I'm going, and when my muse wakes me up in the middle of the night/morning/lunch with a 'Oh this would be good' I write it as a page. Then I can either use it or shffle it to the "good by not here' folder. My desk has post-it notes and a speller and dictionary beside me and the HP books GoF, HBP & DH. My books are full of post-it-tabs. I even have pictures of houses, places and sundry in folders on my thumbdrive as references. If a place is mentioned in the story: a park, house, cafe, etc I have it in the folder for the story. But mostly, I just know which is what and where I'm at. (although that can change if my muse gets going and I realize I have to revamp my outline of where I'm going because I flew offf track. (I've done that with Self-Writing Parchment twice. Ginny wasn't angry and distrusting - and Minerva was welcoming.) So that's how i do it. Sorry to bable. But thank you for asking.

Why did it take 29 hours to come back from Australia, when it only took 23 hours to go there? I suppose they had to take a muggle airplane, rather than just apparate, because Hermione's parents would be coming back with them, and would have to travel by plane, and it would have seemed odd to the Australian authorities if the rest of the party didn't have proper visas, passports etc.

Author's Response: I actually looked up air travel for a major airline from London to Sidney and took the adverage flight time for both flights. I have no explanation as to why the math worked out this way - but it did. She chose to fly because it would be too far to Apparate. Look how sufficating it was for Harry to Side-A-long Apparate to the cave with Dumbledore in HBP. Well, that was my reasoning anyway. Besides, could you imagine being on a plane for that long with Ron and all he can see out the window is clouds and ocean? I surprised she didn't poison him! I'm sure the MoM created the proper documents. Some wizards would know what to do. Any way, thank you for the interesting review - I loved the comments and questions. *hugs* This was fun to think about. Hmmm cute one-shot idea.
