| I really love this story. It's so funny that Severus hates being congratulated on his engagement. Also funny was that Hermione received the same sort of warnings and threats concerning Severus (i.e. that she'd better not hurt him) that Severus received about Hermione. | I finally caught up with this story! I'm afraid I've been rather erratic here this last year. Chapters post and I'm not sure if it's one I've already read or not, then more time passes and I get more behind in the reading. This is a fine story and I like your characterizations a lot. | Severus has come a long way, to be able to screw up (upset Hermione), THEN understand he has to fix it, right away-and actually do so. (And to give in, where the silly cat tree was concerned--after all, he did get to see her wear the cute little costume, as reward!) I liked the amortentia candles at the end; it was a nice touch. | Tasty chapter--quite a treat! As to the petroleum jelly, I know it helps to prevent hairballs. We used to buy a product for our previous cats, about 15 years ago which was a tube of salmon-flavored petroleum jelly. We learned the hard way that just putting a little blob on their paw as recommended meant they shook the greasy stuff off, which is why we had to rub it on their lower forelegs to get them to eat it. ( We no longer have to do that, thank goodness.) I'm glad Severus was able to get his Patronus to Hermione. I'm sure you already explained it in a previous chapter, but how was he able to "speak" to it in order for whomever received it to know what he "said" to it? Jumping yet again, I can't believe (well, yes I can) that Ron named his son NORBERT! And Snape is right that babies look like mandrakes, only cleaner Wide-ranging chapter, and a good one. Thank you! Author's Response: Yup, it's great for hairballs! And all of the cats I've ever had have LOVED it. They just lick it up like mad! I'd put a little on my finger and they'd take it no problem. As for the Patronus... it doesn't speak. When he used it with Hagrid, it led him to the gates. With Hermione, she understands that if he's sent it, it's important and he likely needs her. :) | |||

| What a lovely chapter. I like the way you show his...not quite turmoil of feelings. I know it was a relief for him to have found out the information he needed: not just about the rings, but the fact she did want to marry him and did want children. One thing, that I noticed early in the chapter, though: he didn't know how to BROACH the subject. A "brooch" is a decorative pin. Small quibble in a chapter that is a lovely capturing of Severus' feelings. Another "10" for you, and thanks for all your work.
