Reviews for Fruit Of A Bitter Harvest

This is a superb story. I love your writing style. Your narrative distance is very interesting. Remote, sort of matter-of-fact, but you can sense the depth of emotion behind it. The two of them are falling in love and not even realizing it. I hope hope HOPE that this is not a tragedy . . . your prologue wasn't encouraging though. Please keep up the good work and please don't break my heart too badly! I love these two together!

Author's Response: Hi FieryPen37, Thank you for the lovely review it is rather like being on the receiving end of a particularly wonderful hug. As for my style I suppose my inner Brit will out. Seemingly distant but bubbling along under the surface. Austin rather than Bronte (not that I am in any way shape or form claiming association with them, was my mouth out with soap if I ever do.) As for the end, well now what happens is ... Sorry couldn't resist teasing you. Thanks for the review S

So far I am enjoying this story and I only hope you will be able to complete it. Both Hermione and Severus are running very true to how I imagine they would behave. I am looking forward to seeing how it pans out.

Author's Response: Hi Golden Gem, first of all don't worry I never post a WIP, only something that is completed. The delays in posting are so that the last minute " I'll just add this bit " wibbles can be dealt with. Second, thanks for the review they always warm my heart.

What a great update, I love how you slowly and steadily makes them grow up (yes both of them) emotionally and grow closer together, starting to trust eachother etc in a very belivabley way considering what brougth them together in the first place. Very well done.

Author's Response: Hi Sampdoria, I don't think their relationship could be anything but slow and steady after that beginning. Glad you think they are both growing, though I think Severus has more emotional distance to cover than Hermione! Thanks for the review, they keep the pen twitching. S

Lovely stuff. This is what being married is really about: the caring, the companionship, the trying to make life easier for the other. Learning how to respect one another's boundaries, how to listen to what the other is (and isn't) saying--these are what's important. You portray it well. Thanks for all you do. I look forward to the next chapter, and selfishly hope it isn't too long in coming!

Author's Response: Hi Jong_Kahn, I agree, anyone who thinks a relationship isn't about all the care and consideration, the things said and unsaid and respect for each other is living on the pink planet Boo. They may not as dramatic as the rest of the stuff life throws at us but they are just as interesting. The next chapter is ready apart from the last minute additions, as always little bits stick their hands in the air and like Oliver ask for more please. I'm hoping to add it to the queue Saturday.

I really like how this Marriage Law story is focusing on flashbacks of important moments in their marriage regarding their slowly formed tolerance and acceptance of each other, instead of relating the mundane day to day aspects of their marriage to the readers. I particularly liked Snape's line about serving her next cup of tea with a snarl to moderate the effects of his previous kindnesses. :) You have portrayed Snape very truthfully to his character and your chapters pack quite an emotional punch, which is a joy to read. Keep up the super work and I can't wait to read more! :)

Author's Response: Hi, the start and the end of the story appeared first and then I had a long while wondering what would be between the two. The idea of focusing on important moments came about because I wanted to write something longer than my normal pieces. However I don't have a great deal of time in which to write so this style sort of evolved. Thanks or the review and for reading. I'm adding he next part to the queue this weekend.

Talking doesn't always help, but it doesn't hurt either. Especially for our boys who come home from the Middle East. ^_^

Author's Response: Ah, MsTree very true, our service personnel go where the politicians send them (regardless of the politics involved) the least we can do is make sure they have the best help after. One of the newest charities in my part of the world is to treat PTS. Trouble is it shouldn't need to be a charity.

I am adoring the way you write these two. They are such distinctly different personalities, yet so evenly matched. You portray their growing rapport very convincingly.

Author's Response: Thank you scribbler714, lovely reviews such as yours send me into the happy dance, flames of course get the dance of doom. Thank you for reading and reviewing.
