| Very interesting, a very interesting take on this. So - we have a Hermione that's willing to be strong (and impudent, with good humor) right in front of Severus, and a Severus who is both stating he is not a nice person... and not losing his temper significantly in the face of this situation and this affront. In a way, this hearkens back to Tyger, Tyger, but with a more self-disciplined Severus - and, perhaps, a Hermione who may not be as content to be a housewife and raise children until Albus kicks them out. Minerva appears to be a strong ally... if limited - there must have been women willing to marry Severus for money, or to presume power over him (foolish). More important to the plot, though, is that the Ministry isn't some all-encompassing entity, it is made up of people. Which of those people have decided to deliberately target Severus is the interesting part, because I look forward to what Severus and Hermione do, overtly and covertly, to them, and to the system that allows them to remain in power. | |||

| Heck, I just reread my review and I think that first sentence was a bit mean sounding--or at the very least I opened my mouth before thinking. Absolutely was not my intent---I like a well written/believable MLC and this one (and your other one) is off to a good start. Author's Response: No worries; no offense taken.
