Reviews for Spellbreaker

Hmmm, is he still a bit confused? The students weren't killed while he was headmaster. They were killed after he'd been ousted. His anger and bitterness at Hermione is understandable in the circumstances. But even when anger is truthful, it isn't necessarily the whole truth; I think she should have considered the possibility that he might later regret at least part of what he'd said. Most people do, after they've had time to cool down.

I have no idea how many times I have read this fic. It is unique and special. This is partly true due to it being told through Severus' unvarnished voice. But the beauty of this piece is also due to the thoughtful and masterful way that Teddy brings the heart and soul of each character to life. I delight in the humor within Severus, when you are hearing his thoughts. Teddy does a thorough analysis of the personalities of the two main characters, and her crafting is spot on. Thank you, Teddy, I enjoy all your work and love many of the gifts you have given readers to unwrap.

Author's Response: Thank you very much for your awesome comments. I am so glad you enjoyed the story. This story began my great love of SSHG, and I'm always delighted when someone reads and comments on it. I can still remember how my hand was shaking when I clicked on the 'send' button to submit it!

That was an absolutely beautiful story and really lifted my spirit. I'm still adjusting to the passing of AR and reading my favorite authors to sooth my heart. I loved the pictures that went with this story. Thank you for sharing your gift as a writer to bless those of us with imagination but unable to write our own stories the for joy you give us.

Author's Response: Thank you so much, dear. I too am struggling with his passing, and feel a sadness about it every day. I am so happy I could help, and thank you for always being so supportive and encouraging.

I just retread this lovely story. My face is covered in tears what a heart wrenching tale. I loved it and thank you for your writing.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! Bless you for that.

His fear of losing and joy of not losing her had me crying. Then reading, I would like to say I replied with the dignity befitting my position as Potion Master and all round Slytherin Dungeon Bad Ass, but I would probably be lying. Had me laughing and crying at the same time. Love the humor in this story.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I don't get many reviews for this story anymore as it's the first fanfic I wrote and posted here, so it's always thrilling to receive one, especially one so lovely as this. I'm really glad you liked it.

You write the best Snape in sshg. I really appreciate how you write his inner thoughts, exposing the deep self-loathing, doubt, bitterness- the damaged little boy clad in woolen armor. He's exceptional. Your writing is so marvelously evocative and I always _feel_ your stories deeply.

Author's Response: Thank you so much - I really appreciate that! I'm glad you enjoy my stories! <3

I think the big draws to your stories for me are the human flaws. How bitter and damaged Severus is to begin with, how he pushes away human contact only to jealously hold it in a death grip once he's been smacked around the head with it enough times to realise what he could have. That even though he's got his happy ever after, he's still self deprecating and unbelieving of his worth. He can see his jealously, but dammit he's suffered enough to embrace the love behind it. But also how strong Hermione is, even when she struggles with the aftermath of everything she's strong for him, especially the PTSD. That was a very sweet touch showing how he let his need show and the hell with who saw. It may be a little...I guess you could say dysfunctional? how he needs her nearly every moment but I don't say that in a bad or judgmental way. Often times love is dysfunctional but it doesn't make it any less real or important. You write very thought provoking stories, to me anyway. I find I'm left afterwards really analysing why particular parts struck a chord with me, which I love because I know I'll never forget them.

Author's Response: Thank you so much. Having you read my stories throughout these past few days has helped me relive them, in a way. I don't set out to write this or that kind of story - my Muse tells me what to write, and I go with his wishes. This one especially was just a matter of letting him drive while I type. I had no idea how it would go or how it would end, and I only hoped it would be interesting or decent enough for someone to want to read. thank you for taking the time to tell me how you feel about it, and what affected you. It's very important to learn these things from those who read my stories and are so eloquent in their comments. I cannot thank you enough for this! <3
