While sad, this was very well done. I thoroughly enjoyed the story. This line stood out as my favorite:

I think that, despite your House affiliation, last night was not enough… I will continue to need you... indefinitely.

Excellent story!

Author's Response: Oh, thank you, Pearle! Coming from oe of my favorite authors, that's high praise, indeed! "...despite your House affiliation..." Yeah, leave it to Severus to ask her to explore their newfound relationship with just a hint of snark. I'm delighted that you enjoyed it.

Goodness, Snarkywench... that was truly beautiful. You've completely humanized Snape in one evening. You've lent Hermione a wonderful air of compassion... Champion for underdogs and house elves extraordinaire. Truly lovely and heart-rending. Wonderful job!! GG

Author's Response: Thank you so much, GG! Humanized... that's the perfect word! He's really not the utter bastard that he thinks himself to be, but a noble soul who's seen too much of life and needs the comfort that only a Gryffindor can offer. I'm sooo glad you liked it! Thank you so much for reading!

Nicely done. I haven't reviewed stories in ages (to my great discredit and shame), but your work had a satisfying balance of plot, angst and intimacy.

Author's Response: Wow... thanks, ma'am. I'm thrilled that you found it satisfying... a huge compliment, indeed! I appreciate hearing from you!

Ahhhhhhhh...I enjoyed that *very* much. Some really, really excellent Snape imagery there, I could hear the voice, see his panther-like movements, the whole works. I was all teary-eyed for both him and Lupin, and now I'm all sniffly. Good realistic sex between them too. Would love to see a follow-up to this. ~HR

Author's Response: **Fishes around in pocket for Kleenex** I'm sorry I made you sniffly... I think. Lupin is the ultimate tragic figure, and Snape's humanity (love that word! Thanks, GG!) is forced to the forefront by both the heartbreaking dead end that is Lupin's situation, and the need for Snape to once again rise to the occasion and 'save' those who can't protect themselves against the 'evil' in their world. As far as a follow-up, I was really tempted, when writing this, to actually take them to the Shrieking Shack, etc., but then decided that I wanted this to be just about them. Even though Lupin is the catalyst that brings them together, I really just wanted it to be about the two of them and their discovery of each other. As always, my dear, I love your reviews... they're always so encouraging! Thank you!!

Awww..fluffiness...thank you for letting go of the plot bunnies...amazing story...^_^

Author's Response: Ah... my plot bunnies are quite fiesty little creatures, and most stubborn, when it comes right down to it. I highly doubt I'd have been able to contain them for long... I think it's a case of, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!" Thanks for reading!!
