| oh, I think I've got it! Three months is the soonest it can be determined if a baby is a squib or not. The magic is being drained from the muggleborn babies and given to the pureblood squibs, rendering them non-squibs, and killing the muggleborns ! Author's Response: Thanks! | Seeing that the dead muggleborn babies and the decrease in squib births among purebloods seem to have occurred at around the same time, I'm wondering if the muggleborn babies didn't die at all, but were kidnapped and placed with pureblood families. The unfortunate squibs were then murdered, altered to look like the others, and placed in their cribs. The only problem is, would purebloods adopt mudbloods, no matter how desperate their situation? | I like the plot loads, and I'm looking foward to seeing where this story is headed. . . . . But snape is un-snarky, to chummy, and reminds me more of Charlie or bill Weasly then Severus Snape. | Several years of Muggleborne babies all dying at exactly 3 months of age? I agree with Hermione, if it was all about getting rid of Muggleborn witches and wizards before they have a chance to join the wizarding world, the timing and circumstances of the deaths would be more random. So some party or parties is using these Muggleborn babies for some purpose ... my guess is that if Severus doesn't have a clue, then it must be something pretty macabre and obscure as well as Dark. *Shivers* Author's Response: Thanks!
