| I just thought of something ... as another reviewer suggested, perhaps at three months of age is when it can be determined whether a child is magical or a squib, and their name then appears on the official list of children eligible for Hogwarts once they are of age. Lucius, being one of the Hogwarts governors, would almost certainly have access to that list as would the Ministry and Umbridge. I would think that if there was a means to extract the magic from a Muggleborn and place it into a Pureblood baby, then Severus would have probably heard of it because it surely would have been attempted before. But the idea of killing Pureblood squibs and replacing them with Muggleborn witches and wizards ... if this what's been going on, then the implications about the true worth of blood purity would rock the wizarding world for sure. Also, I can just imagine the reaction of, say, Draco Malfoy, to finding out that his true parents were Muggles. But Author's Response: Thanks! | Dangerousity! You paint a very intriguing and dastardly sccene. It feels to me like the muggleborn children are actually alive and well and being raised in the place of pureblood squibs. It's really the squibs that are in danger after all. What an ingenious plot you have devised for us, even if I am so far off base as to not even be in the correct ballfield. Thank you for such a mesmeriseing thing to read. Or devour as the case may be.

| Now if Umbridge and Lucius Malfoy are involved,you know this is going to turn ugly. My first thought was that somehow the magic was drained from the Muggleborn children and given to the Pureblood squibs, but if I remember my World War II history correctly, I believe I recall something about Jewish children who looked "Aryan" (fair, blonde, light eyed) were sometimes stolen from their parents and given to Nazi families to raise. But what is so significant about these children being 3 months old? I think it would be a good idea for Severus and Hermione to track down the families of these Muggleborn children and see if anything out of the ordinary happened on the days leading up to their children's deaths. It also might not be a bad idea for Severus to check for evidence that the parents were Obliviated. Fascinating story, I look forward to your next update! Author's Response: Thanks!
