Reviews for The Tie That Binds

You had me crying and then laughing at Ron's dilemma, all in the same chapter. Bravo!

Author's Response: I’ve often been told that reading my work takes a toll on people on an emotional level. The way I see it, if I can make my readers laugh or cry, I’ve done my job as a writer. Thanks, MsTree, for seeing this story through to its end. It was a tough month for me and my team of betas when I was hammering out all seven chapters. I’m glad to see it is well received!

Interesting. I think Snape's view is a bit too harsh for Minerva...she was just trying to help. Ron is a true pillock in this fic...quite some nerve to suggest what he did how he did.

Author's Response: It’s funny you say he was much too harsh on Minerva, because that was exactly what I was going for. So, I’ll take that as a compliment! I forgot to mention that this story was written in response to a fest on the LiveJournal Community, Deeply_Horrible. In the Bring Back the Bastard Challenge they hosted this past fall, we were asked to analyze and write about the more astringent qualities of Snape’s personality. To me, he has that steel core of honour that holds him in place—even in times when he would rather be doing anything else. However, Severus can also be a right bastard because that is just who he is—steel core of honour aside. I agree, Ron was a huge arse, and he has little regard for the feelings of others.

Great opening chapter. I really like that it is taking place so far after the war. I thought both Severus and Hermione were written very well and their verbal battle was wonderful. Bravo! I can't wait to read the next chapter.

Author's Response: Thank you for reading, greenwood! This was my first attempt at anything postwar, and really , all of the characters in this story needed that time to "find themselves," so to speak. The final chapter was posted to queue just this afternoon, and I hope you enjoy the remaining chapters. Again, thanks for reading and for the review! I appreciate it a great deal!

How beautiful but sad. Please keep going.

Author's Response: The last chapter has been added to queue and should be posted very soon! Thank you for reading, and for the review!

Interesting developments...Minerva's decision and the consequences are shocking. And Death is a most intruiging character. I'm not seeing a romance for Hermione and Severus yet, but I am hopeful one will emerge soon.

Author's Response: Death was one of my favorite characters to write for this story. She is fascinating and terrifying at the same time, and the power she holds is something as well. The foundation for the future has been set for them, so we shall see what they do with the opportunity Minerva has given them. Thanks for reading, Leraiv!

Such a cliffie! Minerva deserves a break, but I don't think she'll get it. After all, she was dealing with Death, who has his/her own agenda. ^_^

Author's Response: Very true, indeed. Minerva has had it rough in the story. We shall just have too see how she handles it in the end. Thanks for reading, and for the review!

Intense! Damn, that was good! I don't want it to end, but I want to know the rsest ASAP!

Author's Response: Thank you very much! I thought you'd find the contents of this chapter particularly interesting. The final chapter has been posted to queue, and it should be appearing with the next set of updates. Thank you so much for reading, and for taking the time to leave a review! I really appreciate it!

Fauna covered wall ? Fauna means animals.

Author's Response: Yes, mistakes happen. With chapters that run almost 11K, things tend to slip past several pairs of eyes. It has been corrected.
